Have been going back and forth between this and the Denon AVR-X3800H and was about to pull the trigger the RZ50 on Amazon for $999 tonight before I saw this. In for 1, thanks!

No. you can do 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 so not more than 9 channels; your setup requires 13 channels
Actually this can process 11 channels, even shows in the headline info.

This RZ50 is so good
... Bought last time at this price. Hits well above it's weight especially at this price.

Great receiver for this price...as has been stated//perhaps confirmed...many times
Sonically nothing even close for this price all in, IMO..unless the Onkyo 7100 comes back

The Dirac set up seems to give some actual owner's pause in the A/V forums of these units

Its not a plug and play scenario like YPAO, Audyssey, MCACC, Accu EQ, keep that in mind

Personally, I found the set up easier than other Dirac equipped units I own, but its all relative

I was lucky to buy this receiver not long ago from Greentoe for $799. Tax and shipping were included for $799 total. It was my first time buying from them and it was a great experience. The Adorama deal is $799 plus tax. It is still a great deal but I am glad I pulled the trigger thru Greentoe.
never heard of greentoe but looked them up now. they seem like some outfit back in the do.com days, but i presently can't place a finger on the place i'm trying to think of.

Asking a question like this means you have probably not put any thought, research or investment in your acoustic wall treatment. Get that sorted out before adding more channels, or just go to the movie theater

Edit: whoops sorry SlickSirKar! I thought I was replying to the guy that probably has too many surround channels in a room full of sound reflections

I would buy this if Onkyo gives us back DynamicEQ (loudness curve) or equivalent feature.

DynamicEQ would mean Audyssey is back for Onkyo, which is probably not happening anytime soon as it is nearly exclusive now to Denon/Marantz!

That would defeat the whole reason people buy this and is so popular!
You can't mix DynamicEQ with Dirac!

Dirac needs to add that feature, it's the most important feature, even more so than room correction.

I just love Onkyo receivers I still have one from 8 years ago still going strong the power it has is phenomenal going to start to upgrade it and use the pre-outs with a external amplifier that way I can add some more speakers for more surround sound and not lose any power and take stress off my receiver. Thanks for the post OP

Honest opinion. How much of an upgrade is this from a TX-NR676 that is already running atmos with an xbox? Please, if you're guessing leave it for the people that know.

Thank you,
Rob

Running 5.2.2 right now.

So here is comparison of the two.
How much of an upgrade it is TO YOU, every opinion will be guessing.

Part of why I bought a Denon X3800H instead. I use an Audyssey profile with Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume for low volume TV watching.

When going all out for a movie I switch to a Dirac profile (with house curve) for the better room correction.

That's the way to get the best of both worlds! Well done!
