Have been going back and forth between this and the Denon AVR-X3800H and was about to pull the trigger the RZ50 on Amazon for $999 tonight before I saw this. In for 1, thanks!

I was lucky to buy this receiver not long ago from Greentoe for $799. Tax and shipping were included for $799 total. It was my first time buying from them and it was a great experience. The Adorama deal is $799 plus tax. It is still a great deal but I am glad I pulled the trigger thru Greentoe.
I did the opposite. Between this deal and the last one, I grew impatient and bought on Greentoe for $899. I figured the extra $50 wouldn't kill be (after taxes factored in of course). Now I have regret this deal came up so fast.

I have this and just hooked up. about every 60 seconds or so, my audio is dropping out for a half second-ish. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? I assume it's not the Onkyo's performance, but I'm not really sure where to start as a newbie in the A/V hobby. I'm using Klipsch Reference Premiere II lineup of speakers if that matters at all contextually.

1) It would be good to know the exact speaker models to see if we can find the impedance curves.
2) How far are the speakers generally from your listening position?

From all sources connected?
That sounds like an HDMI cable issue to me

Thanks op for this deal. In for one to replace my old tx-nr5010.
The Onkyo RZ70 would be closer to what you were accustomed to

The 5010 was from that old school THX ultra group with the big internal amp and power supply

Part of why I bought a Denon X3800H instead. I use an Audyssey profile with Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume for low volume TV watching.

When going all out for a movie I switch to a Dirac profile (with house curve) for the better room correction.
You can use the built in Accu EQ room correction on the Onkyo for something similar...and just like you do now switch to the Dirac profile when needed

that is a good solution to the problem. one RC setup (AccuEQ) for low volume listening since any minor difference in RC won't be noticeable and then a secondary setup (Dirac) for reference level use where you want optimal RC / performance.

I was speaking specifically to the ability to use in an environment where you cant play loudly

That was extremely clear in the context of my response...and I also personally own this unit

Should I ask the " majority of Best Buy employees"?

Oh sorry, in that case what's this Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume "specifically" called that Accu EQ offers that's similar?

You could check wherever you found out that you're "not required" to set crossovers in your RZ50 prior to running Dirac Live!?

On the RZ50, it's called THX Loudness Plus.

I have owned the RZ50, Cinema 50 and 4800h and Denon is my absolute favorite. Good value. Onkyo is the second in line for the best value with a minor quality hit since it has DIRAC inbuilt. Both Denon and Marantz require additional cost for the license.

I would throw in the 3800 into the mix especially if you use external amps.

To save even more money just use the inbuilt XT32 & directional setting with Audyssey One EVO and very likely you won't even need shell out for Dirac.

If you decide you want to, you get the option of both DL & DLBC with all the features of the 4800 and Cinema 50!

Thank you, now if you could only do that with Dirac! 🙏🏼

Great receiver for this price...as has been stated//perhaps confirmed...many times
Sonically nothing even close for this price all in, IMO..unless the Onkyo 7100 comes back

The Dirac set up seems to give some actual owner's pause in the A/V forums of these units

Its not a plug and play scenario like YPAO, Audyssey, MCACC, Accu EQ, keep that in mind

Personally, I found the set up easier than other Dirac equipped units I own, but its all relative
What do you mean Onkyo 7100 comes back?
