Not a vet but I have a bunch of these drives. There was buggy firmware that caused these drives to fail prematurely in early 2023. Please make sure you have the latest firmware before you start using it. You can use Samsung Magician to check/update the firmware.

I would assume Samsung is shipping with the most up to date firmware but you never know.

i am building my first pc and i already gotb2 tb 990 pro and 2 tb 980 pro for 260. I tried this code on the 4tb 990 pro and it said final price is $167.99. wish I had known about this a week ago but passing along that it will work on other SSDs.

I paid only 21.XX for the item and to picked up at Best Buy. Thanks for the quick heads up. I also noticed, an item I usually leave in the cart (S10 Plus tablet) dropped another 50 dollars. LOL...perhaps, I can wait even further for the trade-in of the S9 Plus to see if it will reach the 100 dollar mark.
