Not a vet but I have a bunch of these drives. There was buggy firmware that caused these drives to fail prematurely in early 2023. Please make sure you have the latest firmware before you start using it. You can use Samsung Magician to check/update the firmware.

I would assume Samsung is shipping with the most up to date firmware but you never know.

promo + edu "savings" $10+12 = $108+tax. Now that i know samsung is selling it for $33 i have no incentive to pay more. I'm not gov or mil.

Wow ordered the 990 pro before I saw this deal. Cancelled it but couldn't use the coupon. Fortunately was able to use my alternate gov address and make another account. $42 out the door is insane! Thanks OP!

I successfully ordered. Not sure what the deal with Firefox and Edge is as I have trouble staying signed in. Worked in Chrome. $35.22 after my tax.
