Best of luck in your upgrade search!

PSA If you like the cans you have, replacement pads/headband can be had for very cheap. I literally just replaced pads and headband on an HD 800 for $13 shipped; identical to OEM.

90% of the audio(phile) community is people repeating stuff other people say (who are just repeating stuff other people say), when objectively it's all largely subjective, not to mention even shit like the shape of your ears will completely change how you perceive something.

I've seen people say the 599 have a better sound stage than the 560S, lol. It's all smoke and mirrors. People say 599 is "more fun" and the 560s is for "more serious listening" and then recommend the latter to people outside the community like that freaking makes any sense.

I think mentioning that the 599 is generally considered more comfortable is more important than anything else one might say between the two here.

Really love this headset. Unfortunately after 5 years, the pleather is starting to fall apart so looking to upgrade.

I scratched off the pleather since it's just padding underneath. Looks fine. Still using it since 2019. Love this headset as well. Tried a Steelseries but once you go open back it's hard to get used to anything else. I did have to replace the cable over the years tho

Waiting on a refurb 560S from BF. Are these better for gaming and music? Don't use them too much for movies or TV shows.

I'd jump on it if I didn't had a Grado SR60x. Last time I had HD598 and Grado SR80i at the same time and Grado sound signature was sooooo good that I didn't liked HD598. Since then I got rid of both but this Grado SR60x is even better than 80i so I'm sure I'll not enjoy HD599SR. Anyways wife will not be happy if another headphones show up Smilie

Seems like a longshot that 13 dollar hd 800 pads would measure the same as oem

It's probably cheaper to ask him to lower the volume.

To a non-audiophile who followed a recommendation for headphones, what is imaging and where is it important in terms of gaming? Is it another word for accuracy?
