I currently have a Ryzen 5 2600 on an ASrock 450 Pro4 board. I see this 5500 is compatible (with bios update). IM nervous to update though... ASRocks site says not to update with my current processor.. but how can I do it before the new one then? Don't want to brick my board.

Also, is it worth upgrading?

That is relatively subjective in that it depends on what your load/need is; ie do you do video processing that takes quite a bit of time, is any of your video playback stuttering, in task manager is your cpu near or at max. you have the lowest end 3000's series so it's not as if your GPU is totally outstripping your CPU. For the BIOS flash there were two issues one where you needed the older CPU first in order to do the bios update and another where updating would remove capability with older cpu's you're going to need to do reddit/youtube research on this one.
