Mine died after about 2 mo. of usage, it was in the garage. The warranty process was very slow and cumbersome, and it did not cover any of the spoiled food either. I had at least $200 worth of meat that went spoiled. I went with a different brand for replacement after my experience.

Seems like a good deal. If you like upright freezers. I think they are more convenient than top access freezers, but less efficient.

You asked some good questions. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any answers.

One of the pictures in this post shows the freezer in the garage, so I assume yes

What's different safety wise between being in a garage vs being in the kitchen?
Anything else other than Ambient temperature?

From what I understand garage-ready means the compressor is beefed up or built to withstand greater loads due to higher ambient temps

I suppose it depends on your garage/location. The manual says to use it in a well ventilated space with temperatures between 60° and 90°

I've never dealt with this but another guy said just through food into a cooler or two, no biggie.

Which replacement brand did you get?

And was this the model that failed on you or some generic garage ready model?
