These are two of the worst reviewed tools, right? The jigsaw struggles to cut a straight line and the circular saw is only useful for 2x wood pieces.

They're rated 4.6 stars out of 1,743 reviews. Individually, the circular saw has 4.7 stars and the jigsaw has 4.8.

non-standard circular saws are so dumb. Blades cost more, and can't re-use them from the normal size 7-1/4 that was standard for decades.

I personally find them a bit underpowered too, so if you wander at all during your cuts because you're just doing a quick freehand cut, there's a good chance the blade stops or pinches, vs a standard plug-in will just power on through everything, even hardwood (although I'd never freehand hardwood and would always clamp a guide rail)

I'd hold out for brushless if you can afford it. They're more powerful and last longer. It'll save you money in the long run and you'll be happier the whole time with better performance for the money.

These are not brushless. Ryobi brushless have black trim instead of gray trim. I'd hold out for brushless.

If you have a specific use case for a 5-1/2" circular saw, fine, but it is in no way a general purpose saw. If you are only going to have one circular saw, a 5-1/2" is definitely NOT recommended.
