I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

I recently was sold an executive membership from a gold membership with the citi card. Is it really worth it if I spend couple hundred bucks at Costco every month on groceries? Are there any additional benefits with executive membership and a citi card?
if you'll make at least $3,000 warehouse purchases (excluding gas) a year, you'll be able to recoup the additional $60 in the fee. else, you're paying costco additional $60 for no additional benefit

costco always refunded the difference if you cannot meet the extra $60 on spend
People have their odd reasons and/or no reasons. I asked a Costco rep to make sure I'm not giving bad info and they said yes, you can cancel the credit card and still keep the membership if you like. For me personally, if I'm still a Costco member, I'll keep the credit card. Like you said, nice benefits with no annual fees as long as your Costco membership is good.
And I just realized you weren't the one who actually asked the question
Yes, the membership exists on its own, the card is dependent on the membership. I rarely use it myself other than for items that I want the credit card and warranty protection on.
Dude, you are spreading BS. Costco has the best quality products at the best prices. They even guarantee the products they sell with a satisfaction policy.
Walmart is the one the sells junk for cheap prices or name brand products that are overpriced!
Wanna know why Costco parking lots are full and people pay a membership fee???
Because the Costco experience is worth it!
Oh yeh, then there is the 90 day return policy at Walmart and most other stores! What a ripoff!
Furniture?!?!? Are you completely nuts! Costco has even el cheapo walmart beat on furniture quality and prices. Well, unless you like overpaying for junk, then shop Walmart.
Not only that. Costco was one of the few companies in the first batch that increased minimum wages. Their health insurance benefits are good, and you should check their store manager salaries LOL. Of course it is a corporation with its corporate interests but it is still a good company
$2400x2% for exe membership = $48
$2400x2% for Citi Costco card = $48
Total earned $96 -$120 for membership = -$24
Gold membership =-$60
You can have a Gold Membership with this Citi Costco card. So this Citi Costco credit card would be billed $60 every year instead of getting the $120 executive membership.
$2400x2% Citi Costco card=$48
Total earned $48 - $60 membership =-$12
If you spend more than $250 per month, than the exe membership would be better. Under $250 then stick with Gold and get the Citi Costco card. The Citi Costco card in general, give you benefits like 2 years extended warranty with electronics and travel insurance and car rental insurance. With this card, Use it to go in AND pay instead of carrying the useless plastic membership card and a payment card. If you shop at Costco, idk why you wouldn't get this card for no extra cost with a lot of benefits with it.
This card is great. Got $1200 cash back last year. I am in the executive plan
One thing that really puts me off is they don't allow you to use statement credit and only give you those silly Costco certificates.
I understand y'all are Costco lifers but I definitely am not, if I decided to cancel Costco it will cancel this card too putting a ding on my credit score.

Crazy that canceling a credit card messes up your credit score. I just closed a credit card account, because I hadn't used it in years, and my credit score went down.
What is the credit limit on this card or does it depend on the person?
Yeah it depends on the person. A few people in this thread said they got approved for $8900, $7000, and $1200. Me and another guy on here got approved for $1200 even though our credit score was over 790. Three weeks later I requested a higher limit because I spend at least $3000 a month so it forced me to pay it off every week to keep using the card. Got approved now for $7000.

Thank you. The credit card I use just reduced my limit. Probably, had the card for 20 years. Never been late and most months I pay it off. They said I didn't need that high of a limit. I said how do you know what I might want to buy. But $1,200 isn't even half of what I have now.
