Installed this system a month ago and absolutely LOVE it. I have had zero issues, setup was super simple, and my HomeKit issues have finally disappeared.

I have this and I love it. Had never used a mesh system and will never go back to a non-mesh router.

Hmm I'm tempted. Is this the mesh system to get? Is this Tri-band? If not do I need Tri-band. My goal is to buy once and not have to update for many years.

This is not tri-band. Tri-band is best if your satellite nodes will be wireless.

This one has tri-band if you do need it. Only 2x devices though.

Not sure if the x60 is better, but I am guessing it may be. If that's the case, it has already dropped to this same price once, and presumably will again.

Also, does anyone know when WiFi 6e is going to start releasing? I keep reading that it's not a bad idea to wait in the comments of threads, but I'm not really sure how long I'm gonna be waiting.

Where did you read that at? Amazon now has it listed as being dual band.

Pretty sure slickdeals pulled the link I included (not sure why) so I edited to re-add it. It's another thread.

Bought and returned.

If you do anything that needs lower latency (gaming) this will not suffice. I found out that tri-band is the needed feature gaming further from the base station. Unfortunately it won't come cheap $500+ for the Eero setup I have now, but it's indistinguishable from ethernet.

Dual band mesh is just a little less reliable than tri-band for other applications as well. Kids complaining about their iPad losing internet sometimes, reboot the router. Again, all issues have completely disappeared on the Eero step.

After a bit of reading, that lines up with what I'm hearing. Namely, Eero > Deco by a notable margin in terms of reliability in particular when comparing apples to apples. Seems like the QOS and smart adjustments on the Eero are leaps and bounds better.

The x96 is supposed to be released "in the second half of the year". Since we're already seeing (a few) 6e routers I'd expect them by September if the microchip shortage doesn't play havock with the releases.

One thing to note about 6e is in early testing of the two big bad 6E routers, 6ghz seems to be more sensitive to distances than the 5ghz spectrum so if you're not usually by an ap/satellite there's an argument to be made to get a deal when you can (but of course when 6e is properly available 6 stuff will also get cheaper...)

I have no experience with Eero but seeing that TP-Link started charging an extra subscription for these "premium" features, at least on some of their models, makes me want to avoid them forever.
