This is a good deal. BB has the 14" version 3060 with QHD panel for 1349.99 (200 off) right now as well. I purchased that instead.
just curious in your opinion, why not the delta 15 at that price? besides 14 vs 15. thanks

A couple of notes for those that are about to ask these questions:

for this laptop:
5900HS tdp 35w
RTX 3070 tdp 100w
So these are neutered?

Anything that you can still consider a laptop and not a desktop replacement is going to be neutered. The 3070 at 100W is about what I'd consider the sweet spot.

Torn, this thread's deal looks really tempting, but have also been eyeing the Lenovo 5i Pro's. Lenovo has one on sale today with the below specs for $1585. Really hoping for a sub $1400 laptop, but have had this in my cart all morning.
  • 11th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-11800H Processor (2.30 GHz, up to 4.60 GHz with Turbo Boost, 8 Cores, 16 Threads, 24 MB Cache)
  • Windows 10 Home 64
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 3060 6GB
  • 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8 GB)
  • 2 TB PCIe SSD (2 x 1 TB)
  • 16.0" WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS, anti-glare with Dolby Vision™, HDR 400, 500 nits, 165Hz

This is very important info. Most people don't pay attention to these number and will be the first to complain about performance.

Should I return my legion 5 pro for this? I wanted the g15 but not for 1800. The lenovo battery life is better than I expected at 8hrs, and this thing charged from 29% to 38% in 1 minute and some change, which blew me away... must be the 300w brick. Also wondering going from 500 nits to 300 nits... would I not be able to work outside on patio..

Also to get full effect of g15 would I have to connect to external monitor?

Was the legion 5 pro at 1400 a better deal than this is?
Why would you? The L5P is the much better machine.

YES 100% it's faster and higher quality then that MSI chassis

Not much better. The G15 has a 100% DCI screen and is like a lb lighter and thinner. I'd take the Lenovo especially when cheaper but depends if you want that 16:10 screen.

This has the gimped CPU and GPU with reduced power levels. This is like putting a lawn mower engine in a tesla body....

i wouldn't. Its more expensive by a fair amount, and its a wash power wise as asus has kept the tdp of the cpu/gpu pretty low (only 85w+15w for the gpu) also its QHD, so even more of a performance hit. Loss of webcam, and heavier.

I guess if you like the asus brand more, or must have dlss, its a reasonable trade. but at a $250 premium, i'd pass.
And yet it's still faster then the Delta, MSI simply did not make that good of a chassis with that laptop, like ALL of their laptops besides the GP, GE, and GS series. QHD is a benefit by most, that's just a simple fact and the zg15 can drive that resolution even in AAA titles(I know two owners and what it takes).. and yes the Delta 15 is impressively lightweight like the legion slim 7, but the ZG15 is 0.2Lbs heavier so it isn't very significant and it accepts type c charging.. Delta 15 does not(this is poor given its pricepoint and competitors).

250 is a little steep though but it can be justifiable no doubt

Only 60w though, lowest powered 3060 in existence, struggles to drive QHD.. so I don't know if that's a good choice gaming wise
