Pro Tip: The installation should be fairly hidden, other than the antenna that is mostly hidden behind the rear view mirror. Install it in her car before Christmas then just give her the remotes on Christmas morning, it will be more exciting than a pile of boxes. Speaking from experience Frown

A calendar comes up and you can select the date and time that works best for you. It just shows you the earliest available date after you've added it to your cart.

What on earth do people need a remote starter for on today's fuel-injected modern cars? No one needs to warm up a car anymore. All it's doing is spewing fumes into the house.
It's for warming or cooling the interior of the car. No one is doing it for the sake of the engine.

I can't remember, was the factory remote able to be programmed or are you required to carry another fob with this?
Mine was with my 2019 Corolla.

Got this installed on Honda Odysee and they programmed the factory key to do remote start by hitting the lock button three times. So yes the factory key will be able to be programmed to do remote start. One important thing tho is you will not have much range with the factory key (my factory key is probably around 100 feet max and if their is not anything in way then, so you don't get the advertised 3000' with the factory key, only the 3000' range with the compustar remote.

I have this on my 2013 VW Routan (aka Chrysler Town & Country) and it works great.

I purchased this for my moms 2018 Honda Accord (current generation) a couple years ago. It was a huge disappointment, apparently there isn't a "handshake" between the auto start system and the vehicle which allows it to be remotely started, but then shuts off when you unlock the doors, so you have to start it again every time. Unless they've fixed this, be prepared for this outcome. I've heard this may be an issue with some Toyota/Lexus vehicles so you may want to call and ask.

For the record I contacted the manufacturer and they did not have a fix yet available. But that was over a year ago.

Would love to hear of others have had success.

Install will only be as good as the installer which varies by location. I've had good luck with the last 3 vehicles I've brought in.

Does not give an option to book an appointment. It is asking to add install for 149. Any suggestion?

Curious, does the odyssey have push button start or traditional key?

Just because you can't see a use for something doesn't mean it's useless. It just means you're unimaginative and don't understand how different people just might have different needs.

I have a Jetta S (no keyless entry or Start/Stop push button). By adding this I think I get keyless entry but will still need the key to start/stop engine. Is that correct?

Is there an option to add Start/Stop button to the car.
With my old Infiniti, which had keyless entry but not push button start, the unit would still start my car without the key inserted. However, if it was put into gear before the key was inserted the engine would die.

You will need to add a device from CarLink or DroneMobile. Carlink's device is called a CL6. I have the CL6 on my pickup and it works flawlessly and even tells me the temperature, battery level, GPS, and allows me to turn on heated seats or other things. I paid $130 and it came with 1 year subscription free. The CL6 works on the T-mobile and I think it's cheaper option. I do not know much about DroneMobile's option, but I believe their device will even scan your vehicle for engine diagnostic codes.
Where did you got carlink installed? And was it paired with Compustar?

FYI: many older cars require the rear defrost to be manually pushed via tactile button after the car starts. The rear defrost will not automatically turn on when remote started (unlike the front windshield defrost). Installers will have to enable that feature via auxiliary button option on the remote and that is probably an extra charge - and it is something the installers failed to mention during the install. Which means some people will have to bring their vehicle again to get that all-important winter feature enabled.

Is there a good chance that the installers will damage something in my car during installation? Do they usually do a sloppy job?

Didn't they have it before for $249??
They have it at this price every 3 months or so. Even more frequent lately as it's been this price give or take a few bux three times in less than 2 months.
