These are a tricky category for anyone not familiar with, and specifically shopping for, these switches. These speed switches from Kailh are genuinely gaming focused by introducing a shorter actuation point about half that of traditional switches. Being Bronze tactile switches surely helps prevent unintended key presses, but be wary if you're just shopping for a general deal on a mechanical keyboard.

Good luck!

Heck yeah I prefer Amazon! Newegg customer service is horrendous.

I will not buy anything from Newegg unless I'm sure I will not want to return it, and I don't expect any support.
Newegg should be banned from SD with how they have fallen

If you decide you want a certain switch for this board and are worried about the sound, you can always purchase dampeners or bumpers to quiet when you bottom out.

Also, be aware that if you want to swap out to a new switch, you may want to try and find a site where you can order 10 at a time, to test them out. Keep in mind that with shipping issues going on, there might be a slight delay.

This particular keyboard does not work with switches that have a "light pipe" and apparently Kaihl has recently changed some of their line to include them. I found this out when I was planning to try out their Brown and Speed Copper on my new z15.

I ended up going for Pro Purple and I really like them. Takes more force than the linear silvers, so no accidental keypresses, but it has that slight bump without a loud click.

I had to return 3 of these to Amazon because they kept sending me the Linear version instead of the Clicky. I eventually had to argue with them to give me a credit to buy the Bronze switches and replace it myself, because they had inventoried ALL of the z15s as Clicky.
Just a head's up.

Sounds like Newegg!

Uhhh... that's a PEBCAK error, not a problem with the keyboard itself. Biggest john of all time to blame the controller for fat-fingering the wrong button, and the same thing applies to keyboards too. Shorter actuation point + 4000hz polling rate are both just benefits to having a fast/responsive keyboard for competitive PC games.

Keyboards are definitely a situation where matching the user expectations and preferences to the right device is key. Blaming the user isn't particularly constructive. The trap with Bronze tactile switches is that the actuation point comes before the tactile point (see details in my earlier post). Contrast this with the standard-bearers in this space like the Cherry MX Blue [input.club] clicky or Cherry MX Brown [input.club] (and most every other switch in this category, including the Gold version [input.club] of these short travel variety). This distinction could produce a very bad user experience for many tactile switch shoppers (which seems to have been the case in a highly rated post in this thread).

Good luck!
Jon

I am going to assume that you have not used speed silver before. A gentle fart activates them. In all seriousness, I HATED this keyboard when I first got it because just placing my fingers on the home row was enough to trigger multiple keypresses. Playing games was near impossible because I would suddenly be running or jumping when I didn't want to because my fingers were simply resting on the keys. I had to dive into the world of switches and try to figure out what ones would work for me immediately or I would have had to scrap the board. It was that frustrating.

The Bronze are better, but still touchy.

This is an amazing keyboard for the price, I already have 2 so skipping this one. But if anyone can look past the aesthetic or not disturbed by the large logo, this KB is very solid:

* Hotswappable - don't like the switch you got, check out the Akko CS switches. They are cheap and perform really well. You want to go exotic, go ahead, this board supports 3-Pin Cherry compatible switches
* Bright RGB! - It's per key, and fully customizable
* Macro Support and Key Reassignment
* NKRO / Anti ghosting
* Wrist Rest
* Dedicated Volume Control and Media Keys
* Standard Keycap sizes, makes replacing them a breeze
* Decent stabs!

The USB cable is attached, but if you are adventurous and willing to do some cutting and soldering, I don't see why it can't be modded too.

It is gear for typing more than gaming. The difference between blue and brown is blue have a bump to create a feedback and louder. Brown took the bump away (linear) less noise.

If you greater feedback get blue.

If you think the speed silvers are sensitive, try the gateron optical yellows. I've gotten used to these and even red's seem heavy to me now.

Same. Gateron optical yellows are one of the lightest and smoothest switches out there. It's crazy how quickly you can become accustomed to something with such little actuation force.
