Also, I find that I don't need nearly as many apps on the iPad as I do on the iPhone, and so that cuts down on the amount of storage needed. 64GB isn't enough for a phone these days, but for a tablet it's totally fine for most.

Not everyone puts full-length movies on their iPad. A shit ton of people use iPad for nothing but browsing web pages and watching Youtube videos, myself included.

Not everyone games. Most other stuff doesn't take up much room except maybe pictures and video and lots of people don't have many of those either.

$540 for a 64gb device is unacceptable for me. I don't game much but downloaded a single game and it was over 1gb in size. My 32gb devices ran out of room to do iOS updates causing me to remove apps to update. In a few years it will by the same with this 64gb device. If all you need to do is watch YouTube and browse, the base ipad for $329 should be the way to go.
