However, the Asus one has a far superior and higher resolution QHD display, almost 1.4 lbs lighter and has better battery life.
So, based on what you need, higher performance and upgrade option in expense of portability and display quality or much portability, thinner and lighter design and better battery life, in expense of slightly reduced performance.

Still, this is a good deal for some, thumbs up
Even if AMD is releasing new CPU in the next few months, this 5900hs is no joke and will still compete for the next 5 yrs.
at least with a desktop you have more control over the cooling and the fan noise.

Some others may have a few more watts on the GPU, but this has an awesome screen and speakers, is actually thin and portable, and can game without being insanely loud with the fans.
I replaced the 8GB DIMM with a 16GB dual rank DIMM and dropped a 2TB storage drive in the extra m2 slot.

Compare the benchmarks between this G15 (though they're testing the 3080 model):

And the Gigabyte A5 X1:

The Gigabyte outperforms even that 3080 model significantly, for far cheaper. I hear you can turn off Optimus for better performance with an external monitor too, but haven't confirmed yet.
