I know there are 3 way switch versions but can I use this switch if I want to make smart only one of those two switches ? Thanks

You'll still need a 3-way switch but you don't need to convert both of them, just one of them can be smart and it will still work fine.

The face plate on these are actually abnormally large and due to design you cannot use a normal/replacement faceplate.
I have 8 of these and I installed 4 of them in a dual box and used a norrmal plate.

Apparently there is a ring shaped light on these switches that can't be turned off.
Deal breaker or a feature for some, depending on your use scenario.
FYI
"Q: Can you turn off the light status ring on the switch? In my bedroom I don't like any light coming from anything when the lights are off."

"A: No; however, we appreciate your interest and feedback in this type of feature and we will share it with our Kasa team."

Great price! I was hoping for these to drop to $32 since past deals were in the $34 range.

I thought it almost always at this price. I purchased all of mine this price.

Thanks OP…in for another 3. These are much more reliable than WeMo.

BTW….anyone know why Amazon charges tax on the full price, not the after coupon price? That seems sketchy. I wonder if they are taking the difference into their profits.
Oh, it's sketchy alright, but it's not Amazon being sketchy - I've looked this up before, there are laws regarding how the tax is charged, it depends on what state you live in and so they tax based on whatever your state's laws say - which in your case appears to be that the wonderful government in your sketchy state decided to backdoor raise the sales tax on any coupon'ed item and pocket the extra in the state's profits, not Amazon's. Government is always evil, the only difference is how evil.

(Which is one reason why it p*sses me off when they do coupons instead of just selling the da*n item at the lower price, because my state does the same thing, and I'm paying more than I need to because stupid reasons.)

Order yourself some lever nuts too if you want to avoid having to brute force these into your wall. The first house we put these in was built in 2011 and using wire nuts those babies were in there TIGHT.

Sounds like defective unit. Have been using three of them for past year and they always work as expected. You shouldn't pay for return shipping if it is defective.

If I were to do an Amazon special return it would be free. But from kasa for a warranty replacement you pay to return ship the item, then they pay to send a new one to you after they verify it's defective.

Noob question. Are these switch compatible with the ceiling fan's light bulbs? My bedroom has 2 switches, one is for the lights and one is for enabling fan and remote control.

They will turn the light on/off but if you want to control the brightness you would still need to use the chain. Smart dimmer switches would replace the chain if that's what you want.

I also have separate switches for light and fan. I installed Kasa for lights, works just fine. Fan is still manual.

I installed 2 switches for the fan in my family room. One switch turns the light on and off, the other switch turns the fan on and off. I rarely change the speed of my fan so on is all I really need.
