Yes, it's 2x the cores and threads. That being said if you're just using your cpu for web browsing you probably won't notice a difference.

The 5800X3D is a brand new beast that just came out, it has WAY more L3 cache (96MB), and whoops everything in gaming performance.

Thanks, Repped! Been waiting for a deal on the 5900x, replacing my 3900x to extend the life of my current build for as long as possible.

Plus the generational uplift in speed. If you don't want to spend the money on a new AM5 mobo and ddr5 it's a good upgrade path.

It's a crap shoot with the ASrock board. A co-worked got that board and was DOA. It was labeled AMD 5000 support. The replacement was an older 3000 support. I had to pull my 3600x out and flash his board.

I'd definitely look a a board that supports flash back if you don't already have a chips that works. Even then it's a PITA .

I guess that depends on what Revision you get. If the stock is pretty old you may have to make a bios update first.

Very tempting, but the 5900x has been this low recently. Maybe worth holding our for BF deals?

Just bought this a week ago from Amazon. Can they price match or reduce the price for me to what the current deal is?

This is just the opening wave of the inventory glut on computer parts. If you need to upgrade now, the 5600X is a great little budget CPU.

Nope, Just got off the chat with them. They don't price match anymore but they did offer a 10% discount exception. I declined and just started a return. Going to reorder.

Any good mobo recommendations to pair with this cpu? My 8-yr PC has been acting weird these days and it's probably time
