Darn, guess they fixed it quick. Thanks for checking!
M.2 SSDs w/ heatsink on it were released quite recently (2022Q3), which means I failed to find out any website comparing the two models I specified. So I had to infer which one should I choose based on the reviews comparing the normal models, i.e., 980 Pro 2TB w/o heatsink vs. SN850X 2TB w/o heatsink. Most benchmark results and opinion of professional testers indicate SN850X is a winner. SN850X dominates 980 Pro on the most aspects of performance benchmark, albeit some with a narrow margin. Anyway, higher performance is a higher performance. Meanwhile, some users in PC communities such as Reddit said the brand power of Samsung dominates WD, is more reliable, and also, they had terrible customer experience with WD when using HDD back in old days, so recommended Samsung.
My final choice was SN850X 2TB with heatsink (Amazon, $179.99, as of Nov 24, 2022). First of all, not a single professional reviewer said 980 Pro wins SN850X, even though some said 980 Pro is the way to go if you desperately need encryption, which I do not. Second, adding $10 bucks to heatsink model was not a big deal for me. I do not have the exact number how much heatsink model performs better than no-heatsink model, but just personally concluded it is worth it (only +$10). But be careful some people peeled off the heatsink by themselves because the w/ heatsink model does not fit into their motherboard.
Purchase direct from Western Digital. Combine it with a 15% discount for certain eligible individuals (students, teachers, seniors, etc.) (details at: https://www.westerndigi
