When you take off the NVMe bay, there should be a sticky paper to peel off so the heatpad can stick to your drive.

Don't update the bios after you activate Windows. A bios update on this board will make Windows think you changed motherboards and you'll need a new copy of Windows.

i thought the windows only can be used for one pc at a time, that means even if updated after activation, as long as the windows server only see one pc per one key, it should be OK?

It depends on if you have a retail or OEM key. Retail you can transfer to a different PC but OEM is tied to the motherboard. When I built my computer last year and bought Windows 11 the only option is OEM unless you bought Windows 10 and upgraded that way. I set my PC up activated Windows by going through the store and purchasing a key. Updated the BIOS later and Windows deactivated. Took a few days of dealing with Microsoft support to get a new key. Searching Google it appears I'm not alone with this happening with this board.

VRMs not best [youtu.be] even for older i9 12900k. most Z790 have better VRMs and DDR5 to support 13th gen for around $195
