People think they need more ram than they actually need. We have come a long way since the RAM + hard disk era where the cost was extremely expensive when a cache miss happens. With the SSD now offering much lower latency and high throughput, it will be ok to have a few misses.

Having said that, I am not saying cache misses are good, but is it worth spending closer to half the cost of this machine for the next 8GB of RAM? For average users, hell no. Get this and save your money for next time when the machine actually becomes unusable.

Been wanting one of these for years, but can't justify buying the next model up for an extra $600 just to get 16GB of RAM. That should be standard, or $100 upgrade at the most.

Whoever want to pay for the 16GB definitely are not average users.

Only two Thunderbolt ports on this 🤮 the 2018 model had four thunderbolt ports on every model. If you want the full set of four thunderbolt you need the Pro model i think
