I own this year's model and last year's model and I can with 100% confidence that the 2023 model runs much cooler. Silent mode idle for me is at 51C - much lower than what Jarrod spoke about. Under Prime95 load the 2023 is ~10C cooler at 90 vs 100C, and the GPU is about 15 degrees cooler at 75 vs 90C under load. I don't know what was wrong with Jarrod's review unit. In real-world (non-benchmark use) my battery life is identical to last year's model when performing office tasks and web browsing at 7-8w.

I have had such bad luck with Best Buy pre-owned products. One "Open Box - Excellent" laptop I got wouldn't even boot, had a busted battery and underpowered, off brand charger that they tried to include. They didn't seem to understand why a 160W wasn't good enough when the laptop shipped with 240W.

Also went in on an open box excellent on this. $1068.99 and after taxes being $1135, none near me but they had available to ship.

Ha, same boat, but on this exact same laptop (Open Box - Excellent).

Within the span of a month, it's gone from $1,281 to $1,168, to now $1,069...

BB doesn't price match Open Box, and support even told me to just return/re-buy, so I guess that's what I'm going to do.
