While decent apparently a lot worse than last year and runs hotter. There is a full review on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/8L1QXpz8Y_M
I own this year's model and last year's model and I can with 100% confidence that the 2023 model runs much cooler. Silent mode idle for me is at 51C - much lower than what Jarrod spoke about. Under Prime95 load the 2023 is ~10C cooler at 90 vs 100C, and the GPU is about 15 degrees cooler at 75 vs 90C under load. I don't know what was wrong with Jarrod's review unit. In real-world (non-benchmark use) my battery life is identical to last year's model when performing office tasks and web browsing at 7-8w.

I realize there's always going to be something better to come along, but is it worth waiting for a higher spec GPU or are the differences between the 4060, 70, 80, 90 etc basically indistinguishable?

Good laptop, bought open box excellent about a month ago. Too bad out of return period for refund for diff. One advice for upgrading is to NOT disconnect the battery. Lots of stories online people messing up when disconnecting the battery and busting the battery port. Just empty battery to zero and upgrade RAM, SSD, and/or wifi with battery connected. Easy if you're careful.

Upgraded with 32gb additional, 4tb ssd, and Intel wifi.

No ambient light sensor? I guess I'm too spoiled by Apple

I won't buy any laptop or monitor with no ambient light sensor.

Single NVME slot and single SODIMM slot with 16GB soldered. Put in another 16GB module for 32gb total and swapped the drive to a 2tb 670p.

Very nice machine, wish it came with grey, paranoid the white will get stained or become yellow over the years. I copped one yesterday. With a little bit of tweaking using GHelper, I'm getting about 11,800-11,950 in Timespy.

I returned the HP Envy 16 4060 for $950 deal for this one. Hated that you couldn't charge the Envy unless off with USB-C.

I'm not totally sure yet but I haven't had luck getting 4k display port HDR 120hz + Power + USB working on this machine through one usb-c cable. It's doable on my Asus M16 4080.

Just picked up a G14 with RTX 4060 in Satisfactory condition at BestBuys. The only thing wrong was it was missing one screw for the bottom cover. Looks like the last person upgraded the Ram and maybe the HD but then returned it. Other then that it's been running fine.

ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G14 w/ RTX 4060 -GA402XV - $1043.99 Condition: Satisfactory
Silicon Power 2TB XS70 - $94.78 (Amazon)
CORSAIR - Vengeance 16GB -$39.99 (Best Buys sale)

$1,284.36 w/ tax included

I'm returning a Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 AMD (16") with RTX™ 4060 from Lenovo. It's was too big and heavy for travel. Its more of a stationary machine and replacement for a desktop. I'd recommend it for someone who wont take it outside the house. Total: $1,219.87 (w/ Slickdeals promo codes a couple weeks ago)

Processor AMD Ryzen™ 7 7745HX Processor with 16GB memory and 1TB storage

I am evaluating between these three deals right now... I have the laptops (or on their way) and try to determine what the best for me. Leaning toward the G14.

The G14 blows both laptops out the water performance wise. I'm not sure what your looking for, a great deal or a great gaming laptop? The first laptop has an integrated graphic card which isn't good for gaming.

Shit this or a legion pro? Kind of using for just stationary gaming while at my gfs, and in Canada the legion pro 5 comes out to around 1500 usd with upgraded Ryzen, 4070, 240hz screen, and 32gb ram (I'll throw in a bigger nvme when I get it)
