  • About this Offer:
    • Most but not all of the free tools are brushless. The brushless tools are marked as such.
    • The free tool lists for the $99 and $199 combo are not the same. The $199 combo removes the following options: Jet blower, mini chainsaw, and multi-tool with accessories.

I wanted to give a heads up on a potential future Ryobi sale at Home Depot. All credit goes to user on reddit, Life_of_Reilly for sharing images from their Home Depot store. Here's the link to the original reddit thread [reddit.com].

I've gone ahead and extracted out the SKUs for the products so that I can post here for people to research, review, etc. Please note this sale is not guaranteed, but the images do look rather convincing. Nothing is final and certainly things could change along the way. Pricing is subject to change. Take this info with a grain of salt. This sale may or may not start on October 23, 2023 and may last until January 28, 2024. I am posting the details for what I think would be the best deals available if the sale goes live.

This offer is now Live!

Note: Must add all items to cart to see discount reflected.

The circular saw is the only tool I have from Ryobi that I am not actually a fan of. Blade tends to get stuck often in the middle of a cut. Frustrating. I tend to favor the plug in saws if I had a longer cut to make. For short cuts on 2x4 or something similar, Ryobi is fine.
I think it's really dependent on how much you use them. I've had Ryobi has my main line and do pretty much everything DYI. I've yet to be unhappy. That said, I've only seen pros use Milwaukee or Dewalt. I don't know how much beating Ryobi can take in comparison.

Looks like non-HP batteries...

edit: Now that deal is live, we can see it can be hacked, and $40 for 2x 4ahr batteries puts it at $5/ahr. This is one of the best prices we've seen for Ryobi batteries.

That's why it is the $99 price. Still a few good tools in there that I'll pick up for the vacation house at those prices.

My main cordless tools line is Ridgid. But there are things they don't make (e.g., stapler) that I'd like to have - in a nice to have sorta way - but also expect to use not these all that often. I understand I can buy an adaptor for Ridgid to ______.

I wanna keep it to one other brand...do you recommend Milwaukee or Ryobi?

Anybody have the mini chainsaw? I have a telescopic chainsaw from a different manufacturer, and after cutting so many limbs, the chain pops off. I'm just wondering if this thing stays together and you can get through a job without a lot of fixing along the way.

Ryobi.
I do the same. Ridgid for core frequent use tools, Ryobi to fill gaps and great tool selection

If you read the original post on Redit it indicates this is a PREVIEW of sale to take place in November. These are not the current prices or deals

There was a sale several years ago that was two 3ah HP batteries, charger, bag, and two brushless tools. Same $99 price tag. I think we get nostalgic for it. The feeling that maybe not quite enough time has passed for inflation to reach the level of a whole second tool *and* step down in battery kit class.

This is a fantastic deal! It used to be that you got 2x 3ah batteries and one of the crappiest brushed tools in the lineup. I own all but one of the tools on the list and some of them are world-class (in comparison to my high-end cordless tools), such as the multi-tool and the router or just really good, like the angle grinder and the hackzall.

The two I'd definitely stay away from are the sander and the circ saw.

Depends on the tools you want. I have almost all the Ryobi tools in 18v, but I sprinkled in Milwaukee 12v stuff for all the mechanics tools and a few other items they had before Ryobi released their version like the mini chainsaw, 3" cutter, and Hackzall. I also picked up the 12V surge impact driver. I use it for my main driver around the house. The nice thing about the Milwaukee 12v line is how light and compact it is for everyday use so that is my recommendation on adding a 2nd line no matter what your first line is.
