Odd that someone would use Microsoft Edge on MacOS.
Why? It's just an enhanced Chrome.

Buy a plug? Are you working in the Saharan Desert or something?
Yes, when we were told we could work remote, I decided "let's truly go remote" and I pulled up an oasis in the desert as my office.

My portable drive has 4 times more storage than your phone. What's your point?
Not sure that argument makes sense. A portable drive by definition is a storage media and its primary function is to store (massive amounts of) data. So yes it should have much more storage than a measly phone.

If you really did not get the other person's comment, it meant that it's a effing crying shame that a MacBook Air laptop which is a full function computing device has lesser storage than a phone that is supposed to be an ancillary computing device.

At this rate if Apple keeps skimping on these base laptop specs, with a slight exaggeration we could say that a day will come when other laptops would have more memory than storage on a MacBook!!!

You do realize you can customize it to get the specs you want/need, right? Like, the feature they've offered for 15+ years now? No one is forcing you to get the base model specs.

And your phone probably cost more.

A 256gb iPhone Pro Max is $1199 MSRP for reference.
Genuinely asking, not trying to argue, what do people store on laptops? I can only think of word and excel.

Depends on what the person uses it for. Documents, photos, music, movies, working files, etc. I think there are better options than onboard storage but that's up to the end user to determine.

Why would what someone stores change on laptop vs. desktop?

You do realize many people only have one or the other, right? And that it's common in the working environment to only give out laptops now, to everyone?

Desktop too. I don't understand using a MacBook Air for storage.

Because you buy it as your one Mac and you need to store all your stuff on there.

I don't see why I would distinguish between "laptops -> light storage" and "desktops -> heavy storage" - to me that makes no sense. It's as if you're saying laptops can't do everything that a typical user needs... ?

I don't, I don't get why anyone needs more than 256 storage on a non production desktop either. 99.9% of people haven't seen a digital camera since 2010. I guess SOME people somewhere transfer their photos I guess. If ur doing editing why would you use an air? Even editors use external ssd

So editing people can't use a MacBook Air?

Where in the world do you get these rules?
Who makes them up?
Who approves them?

Does it work? Yes.
Is the Pro faster? Of course. I think everyone knows that.
Does the Air still have a place? Absolutely.

This absolutism is absurd. Air (or laptops) only doing Word and Excel? That's insane.

MaxTech isn't what I would call a high quality reviewer, more a sensationalist.
