Got it for 800 plus tax. Delivered yesterday. Deal did last for a few hours
Will try mounting it this afternoon - I don't think any of my tilting mounts will be able to handle this thing. With the vesa bracket design and the curved design the fulcrum is super far forward.
Mounting the Alienware 3423DW had similar challenges, and it weighs 25% less. Despite the mount having a rating of 35lbs, at 15lb ultra wide would make it slump because of the center of gravity / fulcrum being so different than a flat panel.
What are you mounting it with?
Has absolutely no adjustments, so not going to be everyone's cup of tea. But it is secure to the wall
Honest question here.. isn't it difficult to play some games on this behemoth? I'm mostly imagining trying to play FPS's on it
Fast forward to today and a lot of games actually natively support 21:9 so you're not at some disadvantage and/or lesser experience than a 16:9 monitor. However, this monitor (which I owned and used for 2 years) at 32:9 ratio, basically no game really supports without some artiifical distorting. So you either get stretched out images on the sides and/or cropping so you're missing content.
Subjective, but for FPS's the extra "immersion" I found extremely distracting. It offers no real "immersion" because at the end of the day, you're still sitting in front of a monitor and it just added a lot of visual static in my peripheral with no real benefit. Inevitably there's a good chance you will crop your games back down to 21:9 (i.e. side black bars) and will enjoy it more.
That being said, there are some games that this is great for, which is any sim-type, whether it be racing, flying or space. Also this thing is awesome for work. I mostly got it to replace my triple head setup as it's effectively the resoution of 3x4:3 aspect ratio 1440p monitors, but without taking up all the deskspace and having bezels in the middle.
Overall, I'd still highly recommend it, just don't use it for "immersive gaming" unless you almost exclusivley play sims.

SS or it didn't happen...
Honestly the picture quality of this monitor is INSANE
However, there are few things making me hesistate about buying
1. no power delivery on USB C (This is the biggest downer for me)
2. maybe a bit thick bezel?
3. what's up with mini-HDMI...?
4. unoptimized tizen os (in terms of streaming and gaming hub)
what do you guys think? maybe i should wait till next year for power delievery OLED model?
I've been watching youtube reviews for 3 days but can't decide it
I need a 2nd or 3rd perspective ...
Let me know!
This is the 240hz you're talking about the 144hz was 850
Sorry. It's the same monitor.
