Would reformatting work? Check bad sector (using windows)?
Or you use other specific software/tool?
I bought 2 of them and may buy another.
Ran the crystaldiskmark at 5 tests/64gb
SEQ1M QT1 Read/Write for H#1: 230mb and the H2# 233mb
SEQ1M Q1T1 #1: 228mb & #2:233mb
RND4k Q32T1 R&W #1: 0.78/3.2 #2:0.71/3.15
RND4K Q1T1 #1: 0.68/3.21 #2: 0.67/3.09
Tried Hogwarts on it and loading times was not bad, no texture streaming issues so far. 38secs to load into game from hitting X on continue game compared to my m2 ssd which was 15secs so not bad. Fast travel 15s compared to 7s on ssd.
EDIT: death loop has texture pop in when turning cam, not sure if it's low vram or the hdd.
New Hdd 1 had power on count at 4
New Hdd 2 has power on count at 6
Both hit 59c when copying 4tb of mix of large and small files. Speed is around 140-189mbs/s but at 140ish/a with lows of 50mb/s and even 700kb/s when it's moving multiple small files.
And moving 4 5gb files the speed stayed a consistent 220mb/s
i've not heard any good rumors yet

Preclear for unRaid or whatever disk tool your NAS distro uses.
WD Data Lifeguard or HDDScan if on Windows.
WD Data Lifeguard will test ANY drive so long as there is a WD drive somewhere in the system, obviously for this drive it doesn't matter because it IS a WD drive.
*Note that the full test (which is what I recommend you run) for a drive of this size will take over 24hrs to complete. You will at least be running it overnight.
