Getting this one and returning the 18'.
I paid $240 for this 2 weeks ago, the $99 18-footer wouldn't have been enough.
Just price adjusted in-store at HD.
Thanks SD!

I am seeing a number of low ratings due to the plastic adjusters breaking. Anybody have an opinion/experience on that?

I originally wanted this ladder, but no socal home depots had the new version in stock. I bought the little giant 22' but I had to return it because I didn't have 20' of clear space around the house to tip it up. Went with a 24' classic extension ladder instead, but today I noticed that my home depot got a crap ton of these in today. They're the new version, with the tool tray

I just went to my local Home Depot in Lake Mary, FL. These were in a separate section in lumber. The store associate wasn't even aware, but a customer helped me find it as she was looking for it too. Make sure you look around not just in the ladder section as it seems they have a big supply of them. Good luck

Wow, this is a great price. I paid $150 for a used 22ft little giant ladder… no feature rich one either… and the guy did not want to budge on price. You cannot, I repeat, you cannot go wrong with this purchase!!

Quote from JoelSamuel :
The specs for this ladder say that the ladder extension max height is actually 19 feet... What does this mean practically? Does that mean from end to end the ladder's maximum length is 19 feet, or that 19 feet is the highest point you are supposed to climb to, but it actually has rungs that go higher?

Also, does anyone have thoughts on this reaching a second story roof overhang to put up lights?
It means that if a person is standing on the ladder. They would have 3ft of reach beyond 19FT to get to 22Ft in the rating of the ladder height. I do not recommend people buying the ladder to use as a 22ft ladder unless they have a helper or two and are strong and healthy.

The useful range of these is 12-15ft when used with both feet on the ground. That's the safe way of doing things. A 26ft Werner extension ladder is what you want for climbing up the side of a multistory house.

Debating the same.... The 18 foot is a lot lighter but the 22 can work with 10 foot ceilings as a stepladder...
The 18' version of this ladder in stepladder mode has a reach height of 11' 3". The 'highest standing level' is 4'9" so if you're 5'3" your head will be touching the ceiling. Exactly how short are you?

I will say for anyone debating between the two, if you need the 22 then for sure get the 22 but if you don't foresee yourself using the extra height then I would go with the lighter one. 8lbs doesn't sound like much but neither does 30lb. I can pick up and carry a 30lb weight anywhere without issue but this 30lb ladder is awkward to carry and hauling it around feels like a chore.

Can this ladder be used to reach the roof of the second floor of a two-story house? Can this ladder to be configured in such a way that I will be able to use it to remove leaves from the gutter. A two-story house is usually about 20 to 24 feet.

Can I fit this ladder into a Toyota Sienna?

Thanks!

We have one at the office we use for jobsites. It gets a ton of use and abuse and has held up fine. We have Gorilla, Werner and Little Giant and they all have held up so far. I've been with this company for over 2 years but all of the ladders were here before I started. They look like they've been used a lot.

Neither. A bunch sitting in A-frame mode out by the lumber section along with the other advertised ladders. Just a color, paper, product info card on each one from the maker.

No box or plastic needed, honestly. They're rugged enough that a truck bed ride isn't going to do anything to them. (Unlike the 6 foot aluminium ladders that are so frail and light, better not step on them wrong.)

Think more durable feeling than even aluminum extension ladders.

Weight isn't bad. Like a 40 lbs bag of salt for the softner.

Er... Nope. Not unless the edge of the roof is so low that it's lower than normal

Keep in mind the ft ratings of these ladders is usually several feet lower than realty because you can't use the very top rung, and they usually include your "reach in feet" to the number.

I have 2 ancillary uses for the ladder. 1) Getting into the attic thru an access at the top of a 10 foot ceiling. Previously I used an extension ladder to extend and push the cover up, but that is wear and tear on the cover. Using a 18' ladder, the top rung is 7' which is 3 feet below the opening. I would not feel safe extending my leg down 3 feet to the top rung exiting the access. Whereas the 22' foot ladder, the top rung is 9 feet tall. I would feel fine extending my leg 1 foot to the top rung and the second foot down to the second rung from the top. 2) Accessing gutters and top of a pergola that are 10 feet tall. You want to look down on a gutter, so that means you want your chest to be gutter level. 3 point safety means you want to hold on the top rung and be 1.5 feet below your chest. That means you need the 9 foot top rung. I found that the 22 foot one is awkward because of the combination of 5' height and 30 lbs. With a 4 foot height, you can carry it inside lengthwise with one hand but at 5 feet, you need to carry it vertically with 2 hands and the additional 8 lbs you will notice. So I agree with you, get the 18 foot one unless you really need the 22' one.
