Tempted to buy it again, I had to return mine from last deal because all the sudden it would take 3-5 mins to boot up and get to the desk top and random crashes. But when it worked it was a great laptop for the price.

Other option is the one at Costco, but for $1k plus I would kind of at least get something with a 4070.

Seems like a phenomenal deal but wish the open-box excellent could've dropped to the mid-$600s. How does this compare to the Asus A16 with 7735HS and RX 7700S (https://slickdeals.net/f/17276161-asus-tuf-a16-open-box-excellent-16-fhd-165hz-ryzen-7-7735hs-rx-7700s-16gb-ddr5-512gb-ssd-632-99?utm_term=33439873&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=ddp-simplified-sharing&utm_source=desktop_redesign&utm_content=deal)? This laptop seems better in every respect but I don't know if it's $150 better than the Asus A16.

I had simular issue with mine. Issue was with the BIOS. They released a new bios update in January that resolved this issue plus some other issues. Runs great now. Would advise upgrading the RAM also to 32 GB.

The RTX 4060 is faster than the 7700S, by about 10-30%.

Should be 1080p 120hz with only an RTX 4060, but at least it's not 1440p. It will perform okay in modern AAA titles. Not likely to hit 144hz in many games, but 60-120hz should be reasonably doable in a lot of titles.

Open Box price is pretty solid though.

Ok, so here's the proposition:

This vs a mini pc? Once you get into the Ryzen mini's, you hit $300-$900.
Benefit of this is the gpu, hopefully the thermals, and the advantage of a screen if you need it.
The mini, compact and possibly more efficiency idle, 2.5gbe, usb 4 (questionable use)

But from a practicality standpoint, a gaming laptop has more advantage than not. Right?

How this compare to the Asus G14 that's just a bit more, yes I understand it has a brighter screen and a bit faster processor and is smaller. Anyone have major problems with this notebook? Does this throttle a lot? I like that both are upgrade friendly.

How often do you travel? If never, just build a desktop. Don't build a Ryzen mini though. Just build a normal size PC and don't pay the tiny tax.

If you travel a decent amount though, get a laptop.
