I had a good experience with open box, last year. Lenovo gives you 1 year warranty from date of purchase.
Found one open box good for $548 and grabbed it

Got a Best Buy open box Good - ASUS - ROG Strix G15 and it was in terrible shape.
Not only was it not open box... it was over a year old and crashed on any heavy workload such as gaming - overheated immediately.
Huge YMMV.

got my hands on a open box good and came with nothing except laptop and charger, i asked if it the correct charger and the worker said should be, so i took it. got home and found out i was given 170w instead of the 230w, drive all the way back and had it returned because they didnt want to find the correct adapter for me.

The one I got last year should have had a 130w charger, but came with a brand new legion 170w. Beginners luck.

its okay to get higher power adapter but i wouldnt want a under powered adapter.

So it's worth noting that most of the reviews for this laptop are of the upper tier model with the 1600p display. This has the 1200p display which is not very good (45% vs 100% on the better display). This also is more of a rebrand of the Legion 5 and isn't really slim at .99' thick. Open box machines are a good value though but keep that in mind when watching reviews.
*Edit - Open box was the $600 out the door when I had this in my cart yesterday and I just looked and it shot up to like $750 now. I hate when BBY does that.

Man, some of you guys have horse shoes up your you know what, I was looking at this model the other day and I looked at it today, cheapest open box always showed up as $700 so where you guys got the $500 ranges from makes no sense, unless they changed how open box works and localized the pricing. At even $550 I would have bit the bullet for a travel laptop that I could game on.

Yes, and looks the lowered open box price ($520.99) only lasted for a day before returning back to the $700 range. I was able to order one in good condition last night for $548 and is ready to be pick up today.

The one i got(open box good)was a floor display but it was well kept, I paid 606 for it out the door but sadly i had to return it because of the lower powered adapter. I kind of agree with corrosive with the screen, while i was in store waiting and walked around looking at laptops, when i finally got my hands on the open box and looked at the screen... it was very unimpressive... but I was planning to use a external monitor anyway so it didnt matter. By the way I went and found the lenovo 230w adapter on lenovo site and it cost over $100(139?) for a new one.
