It's 1800R curvature for those wondering.
You'd want curved for a 34"ultrawide. I used to use a flat 29" ultrawide, which was fine. I've used both flat and curved 34" ultrawides, and curved is the way to go.
Best price so far, I believe. Front page deal was 799.99 seven months ago. Thanks for posting!
664 is tempting. 1 year warranty worries me.

It's worth noting that, unlike some competitors, Samsung's 1-year warranty doesn't cover burn-in in North America, though this may vary from region to region.

Yes, in every way shape and form with the exception of susceptibility to burn in. Meaning if you have the same image on screen for a long time an after image sets in, permanently. Every other spec though from brightness to refresh speed, gray to gray, contrast, high dynamic range, etc all are superior by a wide margin. You really should look it up yourself to see if the increase in specs are worth the increase in price for your needs.

What does everyone see as the price for the 49"? Only asking because the price I see for my EPP seems to be different from everyone else's.

They fixed this finally with 1603 firmware. It took like 12-13 months which was ridiculous. It was doing the same on my G70B. it's because it applies game mode before prioritizing the input signal. looks like they finally flipped it to the proper order.
Oh that's interesting and glad they finally fixed it. It was such a hassle when I had it!

Not a fan of the external power brick and mini ports. That and the 3 year warranty makes the Alienware a better choice but this is also around $200 cheaper

I am confused about how popular these Samsung EDU/EPP deals are? Are that many people on Slickdeals qualified EDU/EPP people or am I missing something?

all you need is to register with an edu email for the discount, doesn't matter if you graduated or anything.

ew matte screen. im pretty sure it was rated the worst monitor compared to monitors similar to that model's specs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTLvRrx6Hfs

This is NOT for those who do anything with text or excel. Feels like my eyes burn trying to look at these for work. Only for games or videos. I returned mine and waiting for 4k and better subpixel arrangement. 2nd gen almost out, and will prob cost double, but if they fix all the issues, it will be worth it.

34" and 32" aren't even the same kind of monitors. 34" are almost always ultrawides while 32" is a normal width monitor, so it will be taller and narrower than the 34". Different shapes for different needs.

For gaming, absolutely.

I still wouldn't buy one if you're planning to spend a significant amount of time doing "productivity" stuff on it, though.

Check this monitor in person. It is Oled, but looks like low end led in person. Also very pixelated.

I saw this monitor, the Dell, and the 45" LG at bestbuy. The picture looked unbelievably terrible on all three, especially considering multiple reviews. Whoever chose how to display these monitors in the store has done a huge disservice.

I bought the "too large dpi" 45" LG and the picture exceeded my expectations. I played on of those OLED demos off of youtube (the one with the honey dipper) and it was everybit as good as the TV demos.
