This monitor is tempting, it would replace my current triple set up of 34" ultra wide in the middle and my 2x 27" all at 1440p and 165hz.
My question is, I'm so use to IPS panels and while I know oled is amazing, is it worth the move and would it be considered an upgrade or downgrade. I use my system for both work productivity and gaming. 70% work and 30% gaming so keep that in mind on the panel requirements.
You'd be trading pixel quantity for quality. OLEDs will get you moist. Your eyes that is from the amazing colors.
It's a luxury but far from a necessity for what you just mentioned.
I wouldnt call this a great deal especially when you can often find the better Samsung odyssey g9 240hrz monitor[amazon.com]for this or a better price. It is 1099$ right now and samsung offers it cheaper with student discount.
Both are actually very similar. Samsung is 2nd Gen qd-oled whereas Gigabyte is 3rd-gen. While with the Gigabyte you're getting lesser refresh rate, you're also getting slightly better brightness. Plus, it has KVM switch, if that's your thing.

Did years of panel lotteries.
