I think historically, the 93 model (no smart features) is $100 less when on sale. I'd personally pay more for no smart features.
My main complaint was, it took several button presses on the remote or on the monitor itself to simply switch inputs. Press the wrong button, and bam, you're watching some free live TV app which you'll never use. I permanently associate this monitor with Vivek Ramaswamy's dumb face because he was always on TV when accidentally triggering it.
I never once wanted to use the smart features, but I always somehow ended up accidentally opening them.
My monitor did also have one finicky pixel — looked fine when on, but when turning it on initially, it would flicker.
The smart features are garbage. Largest return i've ever returnt.

I got this monitor a few months ago, image looks awesome. Some games don't scale however I first got a 29 UW when they first came out and had the same issue. Give it a couple years and the aspect ration will be fine. As for smart features, the Alien Ware 38 inch OLED doesn't have any and is like 100 less, IMO you're paying for the OLED and UW. I enjoy it thoroughly.
If you have never seen a 49incher in person, I highly recommend you find one and view it before buying. Obviously, they are big screens, 🙄 but I'll bet over half of us won't like the experience. I'm trying to think of a use case for this monitor to make it worth it, and I fail. It is super wide and very narrow, and the curve is annoying as he'll imo.
I have two 32-inch monitors. One is curved, and one is not, but both are useful. I have even played with the 34-inchers, and I find those usable. This 49-inch beast I hated and found super annoying. Some will love it, but I really recommend seeing one in person before pulling out your credit card.
I am NOT saying they're bad, at least for some people needs, but imagine replacing your 50-60 inch TV with a 100 inch. The size difference is massive.
Why? 49" in 32:9 is exactly the same as 2x27" side by side. Anyone is used to dual monitor setup won't have a problem. And you have the benefits to see wider spreadsheet, play games in ultra wide mode or run your IDE in wider configuration if you code.

was running 2x38 and went down to 1x38. was also considering this but its not truly ideal for my use. 40" 5k is my dream trading monitor but it doesnt exist. and dont link me a 5k2k.

Samsung 57" is nice equivalent to 2x32" side by side.

If the monitor works in your situation, that's great. It still is better to view this monitor or at least another similar 49-inch monitor with this aspect ratio before most people pull out their credit cards. As I said, I did NOT call this monitor bad, but for people who have never seen one in person to view it before buying.
Unfortunately it's still 3440x1440p, which reviewers have said is a noticeably poor pixel density for a screen that size. My 38" AW3821DW is 3840x1600, which is much sharper.

I have a 34" Ultrawide with a 27", both GIGABYTE that I use for gaming and work from home. Aside from the break in the middle between both monitors due to the curved 34". Its plenty of screen real estate and pretty cheap too.
34" paired with a 27" is a good sweet spot for the price, gaming (both 144hz) and amount of screen space, IMO.

well, I love this monitor. I don't have to use monitor arm anymore for 2 screens working. This Oled monitor is great with gaming. I'm playing Battlefied games with this, incredible color and FPS.

Why are they so bad? If they were the same price, would it be better to get the one without the smart features?
For me, it's not that the smart features are bad; some people might even use the feature. It's just not what I need or want a monitor for. I can disable the smart features by declining Samsung's offer to occasionally screenshot my desktop, but I will still accidentally open windows using the remote when all I wanted to do was adjust the brightness.
That being said, it's still a beautiful monitor. If I had the chance, I would get newer 1000R OLED just to see how the curvature feels.

How can you deactivate it? Any guides?
