Worked for about a year and was good enough. The AA wireless device (different device than this) has a slew of features and an app. The feature I ended up needing was to scale the android auto interface differently than OEM. It also switches between Apple and Android for those of you who also live in a house divided. Still a good deal for this one if you want a basic device.

Some newer cars don't have wireless android auto only wired AA by plugging in. This is nice to fix that and keeping your phone in your pocket

Very old device which it was good while it worked, connection and sync issues plagued it or just stopped working altogether.
how does this work? does your screen need some kind of input for this?

i'm on my 2nd one, the first one died after 5 months and i have no idea why

but i do know it runs HOT (like almost hand burning) in the summer so for this 2nd one i've left it out in the open vs the old one i had it in the compartment. .running ok so far but reliability is not great from my experience

was the car considered old 14 years ago? i think my 2008 civic had a screen. it sucked, but it definitely let me see what was behind me.
No it didn't LOL. I have a civic si which had all the bells and whistles of the time and it was a few years newer than your2008 and all it had was bt (which was cheesey), sat radio, and a gps system. No backup camera. I ended up adding one with a an aftermarket head unit so maybe someone added one to yours.

Can I use this work smoothly when hoping between cars or will I need to set up every time I switch cars?

I know this is a strange use case but I drive a lot of different rental cars and get annoyed having to set up new connections frequently.

I bought one of these for $80 and it made it like 18 months before it started to malfunction. It began randomly disconnecting with no way to reconnect and continued to do that even after a factory reset.

That's when I discovered that apparently these things have been knocked off by everyone and were only around $30 on Amazon. So this is probably a much more competitive price.

I have one of these from the first batch and it's still going strong. Not sure if they screwed it up in later revisions.

Can this thing play YouTube videos while parked or Netflix app? If not then not worth it for me.

Why not just leave it plug in and charge the phone at the same time too. Wired is more stable too.

I bought one shortly after the release and returned it because it was not possible to easily switch between 2 android phones. Is it still the case?

How about when the USB port is shot on your phone or car? This provides a cost effective remedy to continue using Android Auto.

I take good care of my stuff but shit happens. The USB port on my Pixel 7 is intermittent at best and I'm not ready to replace the phone. I ended up buying an adapter for $25 (click for coupon).
