I don't think it's "too big". I'm planning to put two of them on a 150cm / 5ft (standard) IKEA desk actually. One thing to note it that a 43" 4K screen will show individual pixels. It has the same pixel density as a 21.5" 1080p display, obviously. It's not terrible, but it's also not great. We'll need to wait another 8 years before OLED 6K/8K screens are at this price (and our laptops are capable of driving two of them).
It replaced two 10-year-old 22" 1080p monitors for me. I will add that I run Win11 with it set to 125% scale and I use the Samsung SxxCG70x color profile. I also did tweak a color setting in Chrome, because it showed a purple color instead of blue. This is not particular to this display. Go to chrome://flags and set Force Color Profile to sRGB.

I got it for $256, excellent condition at Best Buy. I bought it real fast, assuming they had only 1 unit.
I think I was right.

I got it for around 300ish from a really old slickdeal with samsung epp. It is great but not worth the 1000msrp. I would say it feels like a 600 dollar monitor.

Downsides are that it takes a lot of tuning for a good picture, but theres youtube videos that cover that. It's 144hz may not be the best, I have better luck with 120. You may find yourself running v sync more , because at that size, tearing is noticeable. I'm about 2-3ft and it's just right, although one day they're gonna make a 1600p/2k+ ultrawide that i may jump on.

Really happy with the purchase, things like candles and lights look great in game.

This is crazy huge, maybe it's me, I have it and I was planning to down size. Try it out while it's on sale, take advantage of it and see if it works for you.

I had to bump the scaling to 180% on websites; my old eyes are starting to go bad.

I have an ikea desk, feels like it's too close to my face. Playing games on it is okay, i just bought the cheap Acer 34" ultra wide, my eyes feel more comfortable on that than this 43". Less motion sickness for me. 😕

43" is perfect for me, I've been using a 43" TV as a PC monitor since 2017 at 100% scaling.
Doesn't this one have some response time issues though? I've read it has smearing in motion and text scrolling. Reviewers using words like "atrocious" and "horrendous". Some theorize the panel was repurposed from a 60Hz TV. Is the reality not as bad as reviewers say?

Shows $430 to me.

How does this Quantum Mini LED compare to IPS? I'd use to for productivity, not gaming.

Thanks!
The panel is VA so quite a bit worse than IPS. Quantum mini led is the backlight. The only tvs that are really led are OLED or are > 100000$. Every other tv is merely led backlight instead of flourescent tube.

You may find yourself running v sync more than adaptive sync on something like this because at that size, tearing is noticeable.
Adaptive sync has no tearing.

I don't notice it that much surfing on Amazon and looking at Slickdeals, perfect for my MOBA games, though I have to move my head more because the screen is so huge 😂

This has been my daily driver for full-time work for over a year. 100% satisfied. I originally thought it might be too big for my desk, but could never go back now. Can't say how it compares to an IPS, only that I am very happy with this display.
Agreed - I have had this almost 2 years and it has been perfect and I use it for gaming and productivity. Very good choice for affordable yet good 4k gaming.

Is this a VA panel?
The Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 43" (G70NC) features a Quantum Mini-LED VA panel. This panel technology allows for superior contrast ratios and deeper blacks compared to traditional LCD displays. The display offers a 144Hz refresh rate and uses a matte screen coating to reduce glare.
Key Panel Specifications
  • Panel Type: VA (Vertical Alignment) with Quantum Mini-LED backlighting
  • Resolution: 4K (3840 x 2160)
  • HDR Support: HDR 600 certification
  • Contrast Ratio: 4,000:1 static contrast ratio
The Mini-LED backlighting system enables precise local dimming control, enhancing the display's ability to produce deep blacks and bright highlights simultaneously.

I've read from a single comment that it only had a decent response time if you turn off local dimming. Some people tested it and the lcd response time is atrocious out of the box, it seems like pixel overdrive doesn't function if using local dimming.
