Not a vet but I have a bunch of these drives. There was buggy firmware that caused these drives to fail prematurely in early 2023. Please make sure you have the latest firmware before you start using it. You can use Samsung Magician to check/update the firmware.

I would assume Samsung is shipping with the most up to date firmware but you never know.

It's in the title. Just don't click on it. Problem solved. Just ignore what you don't like and move on with your life.

people saying it doesn't work aren't lying, nor the ones who say it is..

- i had to disable my safari content blockers or else login just instafailed
- after ordering and being slapped with a big out-of-stock banner, their not-so-obvious UI lets you change it to a local pick up in small print below
- $35 2TB nvme, got dang.

now i gotta buy another thunderbolt enclosure for 2x more 💀
before anyone asks, the acasis 405 is my personal goto -- you can boot a modern mac off thunderbolt, but not usb

Got mine to work. Had to sign up on ID.me and then go through the Samsung EPP page until it picked up my email. OOS online, but was able to place for store pickup.

So to activate a military discount, you sign up for an account on id.me which has a spot for you to identify as a vet? Then you link you id.me acount to your samsung account? Does Samsung provide a way for you to do that?

I didn't engage with anything military related on this one, which I suspect means my Samsung account was already linked to Id.me. For your sake, I just logged into Samsung again to peek at my account and see and there's no acknowledgment that I have the military discount.

I used this last week on my tablet purchase. Wish Samsung allowed multiple accounts with the same ID.ME but it doesn't. My .edu account doesn't work with the code.

I'm a state gov employee, so I'm not too sure how it works with vets. When I went to Samsungs EPP page and search my email it said I didn't qualify and then it said I may need to sign up with ID.me and it gave me a link. I signed up with my email, and it sent a link to my .us email for verification. After that, I went back to the EPP page and put in my email a few times until it said that I was already signed up and the discount was applied.
