If you were looking at another potential purchase like a fridge or MacBook Pro or something this would be a fantastic deal.

First of all…kudos to your wife for being able to handle that tv. That things is huge. Second…that whole situation sounds like a mess and an isolated incident. Hopefully it gets straightened out.
Hahah wasn't easy. Essentially had the bottom cardboard piece on the bulk head ledge and tipped it over on top of me and glided it down. Put it on a dolly and wheeled it to where it needed to go. Was pretty pumped we didn't break it.

had mine installed today. happy with everything. delivery, install and the tv itself. now what to do with these gift cards
I'm planning to buy an RTX 5090 and sell it. Could probably use it for a while too, won't affect its value. I have no intention of scalping though, I'll probably just charge what I paid for it + $100 for my misery of camping out overnight in the cold outside the store.

So purchasing online probably out of the question

I mean, if you have a really good bot + some luck, sure. Even then, probably doesn't work with gift cards/ store credit.

Thanks for all the replies!

Nope didnt cancel total tech. Ive been a customer with bestbuy for decades. Elite member forever and totaltech since inception. I spoke to 1 person on chat first and they said the 2000$ giftcard was the difference in price lol. Totally not understanding the issue. I was forwarded to a "supervisor" and they took their stance and said nothing they could do. Price is what I paid.

I ended up calling the totaltech line and spoke to a nice lady. I made the mistake of not saving my pricematch transcript. However she read back my conversation with the pricematch person at the time word for word and showed exactly the deal they sent me 2999$ with the 2000$gc and free install etc. However there was nothing she could do at the time and created a case and said they will get back to me early next week.

When the TV got delivered the guys refused to bring it down in my basement out of the box. So I had to do it myself w/ my wife. A bestbuy rep called me a week later asking when they could o the delivery / install. I explained what happened and how I did it myself. He "felt bad" and said hed give me a 100$ refund on my card due to what I dealt with.

What triggered the 2nd charge looks to be something to do w/ that refund. On the same exact time I received the 100$ refund , the remaining 2100$ difference from the full price hit my card. As a second charge. My bestbuy order changed from 3100$ to the full $5300. However my rewardzone section on the site still shows the actual price paid of 3100$ and the points to go along with it. My totaltech plan also shows the purchase price of 2999$. My email receipt shows the same.

I disputed the extra charge on my card and sent all my documentation in. Ill see where that goes but thats up to 90 days out. Hopefully bestbuy fixes this. For some reason my return period is only 14 days instead of 60 for some reason the lady on the phone couldnt tell me why. Likely due to the mixup as well. Problem is , I was happy with the TV , got it all mounted so destroyed the mountain of carboard / styrofoam and no longer have the packaging to return it anyways. Not to mention taking out a 165 lb tv out of my basement would be rough.

I hate to admit it but I spend alot at Bestbuy and if this isnt fixed they have likely lost a customer. Ill update for your entertainment when I get one lol.
It took 13 days for corporate to get in contact with me. But you may want to start that process. The email is BestBuyCorporateTeam +
@Bestbuy.com. Actually PM and I can contact the rep who contacted me on your behalf.

I didn't get my price match and even if I did it wasn't worth it to be honest. But I did get $100 GC.

Got it installed today . Black levels are atrocious - looks cloudy and gray . Any suggestions for settings - tried the ratings.com settings - did not help . Seriously considering returning it .
I'm used to a 77-in C1 OLED. Let's just say that the 77 C1 OLED is significantly better than this. 100-in u8. I regret getting this TV since I'm spoiled by OLED. I only did this TV because the reviews were good and the deal was pretty insane. After taxes I was approximately $3,700. In addition to the $2,000 gift card, I get about $370 back to my credit card as cash. So I spent about $1,400.

I think when the technology goes to 100 in on the U8. the screen and technology is very diluted.

The TV is not horrible by any means. It's just not to the standards that I'm used to.

That's good input. Def diff technologies. And a 100" TV's screen is 68% bigger with no additional pixels so the good, bad, and bumping uglies is all somewhat supersized.

When the price gets this low net, it's a good time to try it out. If at $3k (this or the QM8) and I probably keep that 77 C3 deal that I cancelled, wait another month for a $900 Sammy 85" QNX1D to arrive, or something else for awhile as this is where the leaps in tech are greatest right now. Not sure if Hisense is a player in 2025 in earnest. TCL is.

Felt this was a way to try it out now, without having to try to endure '23/'24 tech based entry level TV at this size.

I've seen elsewhere a few peeps were just selling the Hisense right away, and getting something else with the GC.

Forgot to ask you how you thought it was in comparison to it's relative peers in the big QM7 or perhaps saw the current QM8 in action? I guess that display loop polished gold on black at 100% on the QM8 is redic. We have it turned almost all the way down in our living room. How do you like them vs. a similar priced Sammy?

Used $350 BB points, remaining GC's (including the $100 one they gave me for the huge hassle), 10% off coupon to buy RTX 5090. Just sold for $3770 (after fees) minus shipping.

Free TV? Thank you SD for the idea, going to rep the guy who said to do this since I was interested in 5090 to resell or use (currently have 4090 so decided to sell)

Video cards haven't been my thing in a while. How did you buy it (are they hard to find in stock), and where did you sell it? Appreciate the info.

I'm seeing this TV is now listed for $2999 on bestbuy. I purchased this a few weeks ago during the $3500 + $2000 GC deal, will price matching directly on the best buy site cause problems with my giftcards or anything? Getting this for 1000 after GC will be nice.

As for the TV, I'm happy with it. I also have a 77" Samsung S90D, which is my main TV for movies etc. This Hisense doesn't have the brightness of the Samsung which is an OLED, but this was purchased to have as a big ass TV for PC/Console gaming. It's a big boy, had to temporarily remove one of the railings in the stairwell of my house just to get it in the room.

So previously, I bought a Samsung qn900D at 65" and it was just too small. As expected, the overall quality was better on the Samsung QN900D, but it's not very fair comparing a $3,000+ high end tv at 65" vs a 100" value/mid tier television.
I still HIGHLY prefer my 77" c1 OLED over the 65" QN900D. However, if the QN900D were at 77", I believe it would be a bit closer, but i would still go the OLED way.
