Community Reviews

This restored 14.2 inch MacBook Pro stands out for its bright 120 hertz display, active cooling, and pro level ports, including Thunderbolt, HDMI, and SDXC. The 16 gigabytes of memory and 512 gigabyte SSD make it feel well equipped for everyday work, and the M1 Pro chip still holds up well for sustained performance and heavier tasks. The main concerns are age, battery uncertainty on a third party refurb, and shorter remaining macOS support than newer M4 Air options. It looks strongest for buyers who value the screen, ports, and long running performance over the newest chip.

I'm getting dizzy with you spinning everything I say to fit your agenda. My MacBook battery state was a response to you saying M1 MacBook batteries are trash by now. If you inferred I said that all used MacBooks have healthy batteries because mine is healthy, that's on you, not me. I never said that.

If you bought a Neo, I hope you enjoy it. With the meager specs, I hope it's still useful in 7 years...somehow I think most will be in the landfill or on ebay by then.
You made an anecdotal comment and I corrected you that not all M1 Pro laptops will have that battery health. What other reason would you have to say "well MY m1 pro has 98% battery", ok cool story lol but irrelevent to someone looking at a $600 refurb'd M1 Pro from a rando seller.... I appreciate that you're back pedaling on that now and not doubling down on it.

Since neo is the first of its kind, we don't know how long they will last ultimately (will be supported for at LEAST 7 years based on support on their products so far), Apple does not make disposable products like all other manufacturers. So 7 years MINIMUM on a $500-600 laptop with macos is incredible value.

To say it will end up in a landfill is hilarious, yeah bro, Apple is known for making disposable laptops hahaha

If specs were important then you wouldn't be looking at a 6 year old laptop lol
This was released 4.5 years ago (10/2021) and wasn't updated until 3 years ago (2/2023). I bought mine brand new only 3.5 years ago. It's still plenty powerful and will remain so for many years.

Apple supports for only 5ish years after they release the update, so you're good on macos updates for like 2 years. The neo is better for longevity in terms of support and battery.

This is a refurb'd macbook, you're rolling the dice on the battery of a laptop that came out 5 years ago lol

also, apple warranty.

This macbook was refurbished by 3rd party. Even if you spent the money on Applecare one, they will refuse to repair anything that doesn't have authorized apple parts.
