If you are a Sam's Club member the Midea 7.8 Qt is better for only a $4.88 more ($44.87) https://www.samsclub.com/ip/Midea...pe=REGULAR It's larger, and more powerful, 1800 watts v.s. 1500 of the Gourmia. 6 Qt air fryers usually have at least 1700 watts. Also, they don't say what non-stick coating is made of for the Gourmia or the Midea. It's probably generic teflon considering they're $40 air fryers. Some use ceramic non-stick which is normally more durable.

The Gourmia is nice looking for $40, but I don't think it will crisp as well as a Cosori or Ninja, which do cost more.

I don't own it but after looking at it's specs it's probably pretty good. It has a higher max temp of 450°F compared to the 6 Qt Gourmia's 400°F, and uses 1700 watts which is enough power. The only downside I see is Gourmia insists on using PTFE or Teflon non-stick with their baskets and crisping plates. It wasn't too long ago we didn't have a choice and almost all air fryers used that, but many brands have gone ceramic non-stick which is arguably better, more durable anyway.

The race to stand out with air fryers is pretty wild, brand competition is fierce and air fryers are getting substantially better. The Typhur Dome 2 is an example, but it's too expensive. Gourmia and Cosori should copy it. Cuisinart has something close for $130 (although no bottom heating element) https://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-...ref=sr_1_1 Plus, the Dome 2 has a second heating element underneath for more even crisping and underside browning. The Typhur 8 Qt is impressive too with the build in wireless meat thermometer, but I don't see myself doing whole chickens. Some people might love that feature. I'll keep an eye out on the ceramic on-stick. Easier on the washing probably.

I think this is the model my sister purchased. She installed some sort of plastic backsplash with a sticky back below her upper kitchen cabinets. This thing started melting the backsplash and set off the fire detector. I would be careful about sitting this too close to a wall. I'm sure the manual details how far away from the wall you need to keep this unit.

Another thing to note: The black coating on the tray has a tendency to flake off. And, the tray with all it's crevices is not the easiest thing to clean. Otherwise, the unit functions pretty well and quietly.

The photos showing the basket filled to the brim in every shot makes this item seem bad.

My Gourmia air fryer's basket started rusting in less than a year. I'd recommend going with any other brand that has a better quality basket. I'm currently happy with my Corsori one but I think Ninja also has a similar looking quality basket.

I agree, I think they all do that. The actual usable capacity is way lower unless you want to do a lot of tossing. Eve then the foods won't crisp as well and would take forever. My Ninja 6.5 Qt claims it can cook 5 lbs of fries and 9 pounds of wings. Yeah, sure...

I agree, I bought the Cosori and the Ninja to test them since I couldn't decide strictly from reviews (something I'll probably never do again, way too expensive to do that on a regular basis). They're very similar spec-wise, and both use ceramic coatings on their baskets and crisper plates. I do think the Ninja has a slightly thicker more durable looking ceramic finish.

I chose to keep the Cosori over the Ninja because I think it cooks more evenly. It was a tough decision because both performed very well. You can't lose with either one though.
