This Milwaukee M12 Fuel combo kit stands out as a compact, powerful 12 volt drill and impact driver set for most DIY jobs. The tools are described as delivering more power than comparable DeWalt 12 volt models while staying similar in size or smaller, and the kit is praised as plenty capable for everyday remodeling work. The main caution is that Milwaukee has not updated this line since 2022, so the design is older and can feel heavier and bulkier than newer compact options. The deal also depends on the Home Depot return hack, which carries account and return privilege risk.
The Milwaukee M12 combo kit can deliver more power than comparable DeWalt 12V tools while staying similar in size.
The M12 set can be a strong fit for many DIY jobs where smaller tools improve usability.
The kit can be useful for earlier home projects by covering most tasks without needing larger M18 tools.
The deal's "hack" approach can trigger account blocks or revoked return privileges through return tracking systems.
Milwaukee has not updated these tools since 2022, which can mean older underlying technology and bulkier handling versus newer compact options.
The combo kit pricing can still feel high when compared with buying only one tool.
Hackable combo kits with the M12 Surge driver may not be available, limiting upgrade options.

I more recently bought the M12 set on a similar slick deal and all I can say is wow, I wish I had got that from the beginning. Most jobs I've done would have been easier with the slightly smaller tools and plenty powerful enough.
Then I could have put my money towards a super hole hawg or something for the really tough stuff.
A few years ago, I shared your sentiment about this type of HD deal. But I think that these deals are still offer even though a lot of half of this type of deal have been return for many years means that they are expecting the return. As you must be aware that there is a national return clearing house database. I would have been barred from buying from many stores because of these "hack" by now. I have 15+ Ryobi batteries and can't really use more of them. Unless you are saying that dishonesty doesn't count against you in the eye of HD then your label may be accurate.

Return information is sent to a company called The Retail Equation which tracks return abuse across multiple retailers. "Hack" one of these deals and you'll soon find your return privileges revoked from said retailers.
