I recommend watching Jaws of the Lion segments on the "Watch It Played" YouTube channel right before playing the first couple of campaigns to really understand how to play. The instructions that come with the game are comprehensive but can be overwhelming and not real clear for beginners.

Monsters gain their abilities and attack power with a bit of randomness via shuffled cards so as long as one person was designated to handle monster abilities and card pulling/shuffling each campaign or round, and lots of clear communication from the players, this could be a thing!
