Best Buy ($850): https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hise...Id=6457435

Been looking at this, was $950 yesterday and $1050 regular price. Rtings has good reviews and they considered the 65" version their best budget TV.

I decided to buy this because it has full array local dimming, Dolby Vision/Atmos, Quantum dot color, 4 HDMI ports, good reviews overall, and is huge for the $$$. I considered the Samsung 70" TVs on sale from BB and Costco, but they only have 2 HDMI ports and this will primarily be used by my kids, who already have 4 things connected via HDMI. I was a bit hesitant because of the lack of HDMI 2.1, but I don't really think that will be a factor for the next 5ish years for them. Current family room TV is a 10 year old 46" 1080p Sharp Aquos...so lack of HDMI 2.1 is not a deal breaker.

VA for contrast. IPS for viewing angles.
QLED isnt an attempt to "fake" oled.

While the word OLED describes the display technology, QLED describes the type of LED screen this is which means it uses quantum dot technology to achieve a wider range of color and saturation across the color space.

I bought the 75 U6G at $950 two weeks ago and got Best Buy to adjust the price down to $850. TV picture is amazing, especially after calibrating based on Rtings. The android OS is very responsive and glare is not a problem even with multiple windows in our room. 2 downsides are the viewing angles aren't great and mine is tilting backwards on the base, Hisense is sending a new base. Also concerning the base, the tv has 2 positions for the feet, wide which is about 5 feet apart and narrow about 3 feet apart to accommodate a smaller stand. If need be I can measure.

I think you might be confused as to which model you have. Because all of the research I've done indicates this particular model does not have multiple feet mounting points.

I've looked at reviews on multiple sites and the official spec sheet from Hisense. Can you provide evidence?

A little further down in the discussion a commenter points out it is IPS. I would love to hear otherwise though.

Definitely not confused, I have this exact tv from this retailer, there are 2 mounting positions. first I used the wider position but then used the narrower ones to see if it fixed the tilt. Check your research.

Not sure why this is showing as expired. Still showing active for me on Amazon. $849 minus Discover Card 5% cash back = $807.

Good to know. The Hisense specs for the 75U6G [hisense-usa.com] only mention a single stand position 51.9×14.0 inches. Contrast that with the Hisense specs for the 75U7G [hisense-usa.com] which mention multiple stand positions.

Also, questions on Amazon about the stand [amazon.com] have contradictory answers, such as:
  • Bought this thinking l could put legs at 24" apart to fit on my 43" console due to this review. That is not true. There is only one way to mount the legs and they require 45"+ base to sit on. Now l am mounting it to the wall as the only alternative.
  • Yes. 24" or 45" from center of screw to center of screw. Please understand legs angle, so outer of leg to outer of leg would be greater than 45" apart.
It makes me wonder whether there are different specs for the same model.

Yep, Agreed! Just saw both Amazon and Best Buy show availabile for $849. I want to pull the trigger but I'm weighing the pros & cons of each (since I don't have Discover card). I'm comparing the return policies, availabilty/delivery dates, extended warranty options/costs, etc. For example, comparing Amazon's $106 four year extended warranty (Asurion) with Best Buy's $180 five year "Geek Squad Protection". I also heard Best Buy won't accept returns for damaged sets forcing customers to go through the manufacturer. I'm still researching so if price(s) go up before I finish, BF will be here soon!

I try not to correct people too often because they get defensive..

There's currently no such thing as an LED screen TV being sold to the public. LEDs are too big. Jumbotrons are LED-based screens
...... in the near future there'll be micro-LEDs (Not to be confused with Mini-LEDs)

This are just LCD screens that have been around for decades BUT with an LED back-light.
You are correct, but that takes too much time to explain to people on the front of a tv box lol. I still maintain my original point QLED is an attempt to explain an actual difference in display technology vs being an attempt to trick people into thinking it is an OLED.
