I've been using this TV for about 3 weeks now, after purchasing it from Amazon for the same price as this deal. I have mixed feelings about this TV, I think it's a good TV for the size and price, but I'm not fully happy with it.

I'm coming from watching an old 60" LG 1080p plasma for the last ten years. The only TV's I've seen that have touched the great blacks, lack of motion artifacts and consistent viewing angles of plasmas, have been the LG OLED T.V.'s. I've been hoping that the OLED TV's would start dropping in price for 4 yrs now, and it just doesn't seem like it's going to ever happen.

I'm not willing to spend $3000 on a 70"+ TV, so this well reviewed Hisense seemed like a decent compromise. It's definitely a compromise. I still like the overall picture quality better on my 60" plasma, but I like the size and brightness of the Hisense. The Hisense has pretty decent Blacks and Contrast, but only from a direct, straight viewing angle. Any viewing from the sides of the TV and the picture quality seems to be severely compromised. I also hate the "soap opera effect" type of picture that was part of the TV's stock settings. I just don't understand how and why, anyone could possibly stand this type of refresh rate chicanery. It's unbearable to me, and luckily can be either mitigated or completely eliminated on this TV without too much fast motion artifacting.

All in all, I think it's a decent 75" TV for $800, but I'm still hoping for the day OLED's or some other plasma'esqe type of TV tech becomes widely available for a reasonable price, until then hopefully this $800 TV will fill the gap.
That tv is the most basic you can buy. The Hisense blows it out of the water.
Also it's 70 vs 75.

You are either severely misinformed or simply trolling. No LED can match plasma black levels since LED sets require a backlight to function.

Is it possible you are thinking of an IPS panel? A VA panel wins everytime vs IPS, but Plasma beats both.
That is not always the case...there have been a few LED's that have performed quite well and other plasmas that have not

Got to go at least U7G 2021 model for 4k HDR 120hz variable refresh rate gaming. Other than that i trust this over a TCL TV 2021 model.

Yes .. I saw someone commented that for same price I can get u7g 65" ... exploring that option. I already purchased sony x950h 65" for $1200 during BF. But this TV for $400 less and almost comparable performance is very tempting for me.
Surely I will have to compromise on brand name and little bit of build quality and some more bits, but for much lesser (33% less), I will get hdmi 2.1 & 4k@120hz, which is kinda big deal.

Thank you guys for your suggestions.

I bought U7G 65" and kept right next to x950h 65" and sony simply blew it off ... x950h picture quality is several steps above u7g. Absolutely day to night difference. I was expecting u7g to play HDR content better than x950h, but x950 was the clear winner for hdr10+ videos as well. I tried several settings in u7g, but no luck! X950 justified its higher price, I am gonna return u7g back.

Samsung is not the king of TV products anymore. I have personally used Samsung, LG, Vizio, Sony, and let me tell you HiSense Quantum puts them to shame all day long. Not so much on price, but on features and overall value.

LG's WebOS is the most annoying fake Android setup I have ever used. Everything slides all over the place, the remote was annoying to use. They used a red laser dot to navigate through the menus. It will drive you crazy real fast.

Sony uses Google TV which is nice but it's very slow, not all mainstream apps work with it. The Bravia series is very nice, but you are paying a luxury price for it.

Samsung used Tizen, which is a fake Android, like Fire OS. Samsung hits the end-user with a lot of ads, 1/3 of the screen is full of ads. The apps are listed in a row on the bottom of the screen, while the rest is all ads. You cant remove any apps, only rearrange them..

HiSense used Android 9 for the most part very few restrictions and not a lot of ads. The entry-level HiSense TVs are just ok, if you get the Quantum version, you will get more features and better performance. You can customize the layout it to your liking.

Vizio's SmartCast is just a mess, the OS crashes a lot and you will find yourself rebooting the TV over and over just to get it to work. The remote is just ok. Just like Samsung, apps cannot be removed, only re-arranged.

Did notice none of these remotes light up at night, something so basic not offered. Hisense is definitely not the supreme king of TV, but for value and performance, it can not be beaten. For most TVs, you are better off using a Roku, Firestick, or some other device than the built-in setup from the manufacturer.

Can't speak for Amazon Fire TV, Toshiba, TCL, Pioneer, and Insignia, never tried those. I'm not claiming to be a TV expert, have only tested a few brands that other have bought.

Well yeah, U7G is still a budget TV while 950H is Sony's Top mid tier model. U8G is a better comparison, and if you didn't calibrate then the U7G stood no chance. Also there is a major price difference. You aren't getting a 950h anywhere close to this price bracket. It's 50 percent more, and definitely not 50 percent better.

I did not expect u7g to outperform 950h, but at least did not expect this big of a difference. No I did not calibrate. Is there an online guide on how to calibrate the picture for u7g? I can try that out, before returning back.

rtings.com has settings that they used for testing. Keep in mind there are separate settings for SDR vs HDR. I set mine up to the HDR setting and SDR content still looks really good.

Just to keep it fair, here are the settings for both:

U7G

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...g/settings

950H

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...h/settings

I expect the Sony will still come out on top, but the difference should be closer. Either way, sounds like you will end up with a nice set. Last note, if you game, the U7G is actually significantly better as it has HDMI 2.1 along with other gaming features.

You are absolutely correct. After calibration, u7g is showing much better pictures. 950h is still better, but difference is much smaller now. Now I am confused again. 950h is definitely showing brilliant images. And there are a lot of changes tv will do on its own to show the better quality image. However with hisense, its mostly manual. I am not a hardcore gamer ... so hdmi 2.1 is not of a big advantage for me. But now the price difference is less justified. Still comparing and deciding. Any suggestions, insights are welcome here 😉
