I'm coming from watching an old 60" LG 1080p plasma for the last ten years. The only TV's I've seen that have touched the great blacks, lack of motion artifacts and consistent viewing angles of plasmas, have been the LG OLED T.V.'s. I've been hoping that the OLED TV's would start dropping in price for 4 yrs now, and it just doesn't seem like it's going to ever happen.
I'm not willing to spend $3000 on a 70"+ TV, so this well reviewed Hisense seemed like a decent compromise. It's definitely a compromise. I still like the overall picture quality better on my 60" plasma, but I like the size and brightness of the Hisense. The Hisense has pretty decent Blacks and Contrast, but only from a direct, straight viewing angle. Any viewing from the sides of the TV and the picture quality seems to be severely compromised. I also hate the "soap opera effect" type of picture that was part of the TV's stock settings. I just don't understand how and why, anyone could possibly stand this type of refresh rate chicanery. It's unbearable to me, and luckily can be either mitigated or completely eliminated on this TV without too much fast motion artifacting.
All in all, I think it's a decent 75" TV for $800, but I'm still hoping for the day OLED's or some other plasma'esqe type of TV tech becomes widely available for a reasonable price, until then hopefully this $800 TV will fill the gap.

That Tizen is complete garbage. I had this trash, low budget model.
Then step up to the U7 or U8, both have 120hz native displays.
That's more or less what to expect from any budget Android TV I suppose. I figured it might be slow, but I didn't anticipate it not being able to install more than 4 apps without needing a USB stick.
Same the lead in TVs at the Willowbrook location told me I wasnt the 1st persone to return the 75 r646 he said its definitely had some issues on the panels said the last person that returned it was the exact same issue panel quality DSE, I ended up with the sony x90cj it was a night and day difference on back light bleed, screen uniformity and DSE, the x90cj is a great TV imho
Yes .. I saw someone commented that for same price I can get u7g 65" ... exploring that option. I already purchased sony x950h 65" for $1200 during BF. But this TV for $400 less and almost comparable performance is very tempting for me.
Surely I will have to compromise on brand name and little bit of build quality and some more bits, but for much lesser (33% less), I will get hdmi 2.1 & 4k@120hz, which is kinda big deal.
Thank you guys for your suggestions.

4.7/5 from a Branded Company! And cheaper as well https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/smile.gif
Do you have any suggestions for a 75" sub $800 TV with a better refresh rate? TIA

You're still within the return window and the only LED that I've seen with decent black levels was the Samsung QN90A. I'd make the compromise for getting a smaller display that fits your budget so long as you're happy with it.

With that said, one of these days I'll probably bite on a Sony X90J (or equivalent) in the next few years - assuming they ever get their firmware act together with things like the VRR stuff. Or maybe a U9DG if the price is ever right (yes, I know BB has them for $2k right now. I'm thinking closer to $1500.)
Threads like this sort of reenforce that is probably the right way to go for me.
