For those saying go Alderlake, if we already have an AM4 platform, we'd have to sell our MOBOs (and probably for a loss),then, go get an Alder Lake compatible MOBO with the new Alderlake chips.
i dunno why the 5600x isn't going down in price as much. it's a great chip, sure, but alder lake is actually a great competition and a better value proposition at this point.
Idk LGA 1700 mobos are more expensive on average than an am4 and not all 12th gen Intel CPUs come with a cooler (12400 does, but I believe the rest don't, at least at Microcenter). If you are gonna use the stock cooler, it kind of cuts into the price difference for the CPU.

AM4 has been an amazing chipset. I can't believe Intel fanboys accept buying a new mobo for every new build.

For itx builds, AMD is probably the best chipset and MOBO to use.

I'm not an Intel fanboy. I have both AMD and Intel. AMD gen4 was so great until last year. However it's Intel time now. Retarded AMD fanboys deny everything. AMD gen 4 is getting dirty cheap CPU.
$100 is enough for 5600X.
I told you an AMD Jaguar PS4 doesnt count boy.

Got this to upgrade my 2600. Installed into my B450 mobo after updating the BIOS and have had no issues whatsoever. I also took the opportunity to upgrade the cooling from the Stealth to a Noctua NH-U12S redux.

It was generally just a question of when I'd do it. I don't see chip prices taking a big drop anytime soon and once AM4 stop shipping, it sure as heck isn't gonna go down. Either way, I'm quite happy and nothing anyone says will really change that Smilie

Calling it "AMD gen 4" is misleading to the uninformed. 5600X is part of the Zen3 arch, while Zen4 will come out later this year or early 2023. Counting Zen+ (Ryzen 2000) as a generation but not Ryzen 3000XT as one is where it is misleading since they were both minor refreshes.

Used 3600/3600X are going for $130-180, at least be realistic about this product being in the $200 price point.

This isn't a super slick deal but given the market conditions of being sold out for most of 2020/2021, it's decent for people who already own AM4 boards. I don't really see the 5600X going much lower than $220-240 in the near future since AMD will likely charge more for 3D V-cache versions instead of dropping the prices of the non-3D V-cache versions. We don't even know if they will release anything else outside of the 5800X3D since Zen4 is coming out.

It's definitely not worth upgrading to if you're coming from a 3600/3600X, I'd only consider it if you're rocking an older Ryzen 1000/2000 on a 400/500 series AM4 board.

Solid CPU but I'd go with a 5800X at this point since even consoles are 8c/16t, and it better competes with the new 12th gen Intel i5 / i7.
