You do you bro. No need to come in the thread and explain yourself. Nobody buys a mac for gaming.

Productivity is very subjective. Old school .exes, you're better off with Windows, but if you're not living in the 90s, most things run in a browser these days.

Did any one check out successfully in costco ..The check out page is not reflecting the 350 discount .Also we have the same price in amazon and i have a prime card with 5% cashback..so only the biggest difference from costco will be the return and most importantly the extended warranty by citi + exec member for (2+2)% cashback .

I was looking to buy 16 GB /512 SSD M2 Air for my kid but this seems more long term proof purchase for at least 5-6 years protected .pls recommend
Why do you think the 14inch pro will be longer term proof? In team of the release date the MacBook Pro 14 is older. So as far as software support goes the MacBook Pro 14 will go before the new M2. Now if you are taking about what they would use the computer for then maybe. As this price point if you don't mind the weight and thicker body. The MacBook Pro 14 is an amazing choice.

This is a pretty great price. I have a M1 Max version, and I love it, other than the SD card slot. The screen is gorgeous.

Actually, compared to the M2 models, the M1's (regular and Pro chip variants) really do make them look price poor. This at $1600, the MBA M1 that goes on sale for $850-900, once factoring in upgrades, the M2's get stratospheric in cost.

Good deal, a reliable leaker recently confirmed that M2 pros will be 5nm so improvements will not be revolutionary. Will buy this and wait for the M3 pros to decide whether to upgrade.

I meant if i upgrade Base M2 Air to 16GB/512 SSD it almost come to this price point hence the question . I read the build quality in Pro are better than Air and also the screen/audio etc

You are correct. Which is why I suggested the pro if you don't mind the extra weight and thickness.

With Costco their price march policy is called return and buy again.

Fantastic deal for anyone that wants the upgrade from the Air. Not much more than a 16GB RAM Air with 512GB. More ports, better cooling and screen.

This is a heavier laptop and a little thicker. If you want super lightweight stay with the Air.

My last Mac was from 2011. I was still doing everything I need on it until a few days ago. Only getting upgrading cause it just loud and the OS is no longer supported.

Is this the best deal for the year?

I don't need it, but at some point this year I'd want a Mac
