You do you bro. No need to come in the thread and explain yourself. Nobody buys a mac for gaming.

Productivity is very subjective. Old school .exes, you're better off with Windows, but if you're not living in the 90s, most things run in a browser these days.

It's very laggy and freezes just to even open battle.net, log in , find custom games and join games. I don't know why. Maybe I am simply expecting too much from an ARM based Macbook. My 2015, 15" MBP doesn't have this issue. That MBP is just a bit slow but it doesn't freeze, reboots, or lag like the MBP 14".
Above you can read my experience, so if you're not experiencing the same, something is very wrong.

This isn't an "ARM based Macbook" problem. Something is going wrong. You might have other tasks running in the background consuming CPU, you might have a bandwidth issue, you might have something else going on.

Install brew (https://brew.sh/), run stats (brew install stats at the terminal), show your stats at all times, and try to build correlations between what's going on and how busy your system is.

you may want to hold off on getting this... in October they may announce the M2 14/16" MBP w/ *DYNAMIC ISLAND*!
Dynamic island will be practically useless on a MacBook since it's not a touch screen so it won't show up on the Mac lineup. The only upgrade you will be seeing is M2 processor and $2000 price tag if not more. So definitely don't hold off if you need this one especially while it's discounted!

I would buy the base 14 since both are about the same price if you upgrade ram, storage and 10 core gpu on the pro 13. 14 has 120hz miniled screen, dual fans, hdmi and sd card slots, better speakers, mic, 1080p camera, and no touch bar.

A great deal, thanks for sharing OP. For those wondering if the price will be better in October when M2 Pro/Max comes out - not likely. On the contrary, due to a seeming lack of interest, Apple has just significantly reduced the ordered number of M2 Pro/Max to be built to keep a good supply/demand situation. There will probably be a shortage and many people are going to buy these up (and supply will be limited - likely raising the price $100 or more).

Any one knows where I can get new MacBook Pro with Intel processor ? Any website ? Apple has some refurbished ones but double of what they sold when we're new.

In for one - found in stock in Silver about 30 mi away. Great deal on an incredibly capable machine. Upgrading from a Mid 2025 15" 16GB Retina. New screen is almost as big with better resolution in smaller form factor. Keyboard is awesome--great key response--best i've used since my old thinkpads. This M1 Macbook is a special little machine.

Did you receive the 15% rewards?

Apple doesn't do that. Their formula is about 15% off the new price, even when the new price was years ago. It's not a great deal.

16" MBP on the secondhand market are selling for a song. Nobody wants Intel anymore, so if you do, you should be able to find many options.

Hey Guys and Gals,

Question.

I know there was some discussion about certain models not support dual monitors.

Does this one?

this is the "pro" tier of MacBook Pro so this does support multiple monitors without issue

....or you can add a DisplayLink dock (on the PC side they're pretty much all DisplayLink at this point, if they're USBC) and install the Mac DL driver, and you're GTG (with more than 2 external displays, I mean).

I cannot vouch, since i do not have either 14" or 16" Pro model, but per Apple Specs Dual Monitor is supported, just be aware that for connectivity you have 1x HDMI and 2x Thunderbolt Posts, so if there are Folks here who use it in this configuration, they are the one best to comment on this..
