Cheapest its ever been was around $325 thru Amazon and perhaps BB. Microcenter had it for $300 when they were running $50 off extra in store. With Raptor Lake coming, id expect this chip to go down quite a bit further to clear out stock.

Considering the 11700k is still around $280, and the 13700k will be around the $450 mark when released next week (and it's the last revision on the z690 platform), my guess is that it will hold around this 340 price for awhile, but with the price decrease and inevitable availability decreasing it may go back up a tad. I have been watching this like a hawk as I'm piecing out my son's 1st PC build that needs to be ready to assemble next week. Watching processor prices fluctuate is interesting and reminds me of RAM prices back in the day. Been awhile since I've built a PC, and I've never built a gaming PC, so I'm excited about this one!

Man I wish I had a microcenter near me, I'd be there all the time based on the deals I've seen on here

$325 is what you should shoot for as mentioned previously. That will pretty much match the Microcenter $300 deal because of round trip gas cost and cashback from online purchases.

Was waiting for this to break sub $399.99, and this was simply good timing. As they say, "In for one!"

13700K will launch around $400, maybe $450, so act accordingly.

I've been watching too. Even used 12700ks are not going for under 350 very often even used. Microcenter has a sale for $350 right now but I'm trying to hold out for a used one for $300 but I need to build and complete it next week too. There are 2 scammers on ebay selling it for under $350 right now and one on facebook marketplace but I can't find anything else below $350 anywhere. A month or two ago was a very different story than right now and I have no idea what will happen when the gen 13 comes out on the 20th. I might just buy microcenter this week and return within 15 days if the market floods with used ones or spend an extra $100 for the 13700k or maybe less if microcenter has a special. I really want to see the 12700k hit $300 within this week from somewhere.

Same here! This is the one I was looking at. But what exactly does the new 13700 offer that the 12700 does not have?

https://ark.intel.com/content/www...0-ghz.html

Anyway, DDR4 and DDR5 is a nice option but not sure it is needed since the DDR5 prices have come down.

Starting to collect stuff for the next build this winter.

Just bought the i7-12700k for $349.99 and I think it's fine. I didn't want to wait for another $25 off or whatever. I bought the 12600k at microcenter first, first $250, but went back to return it and spend the extra $100 on the 12700k knowing that long term I'd be happy I spent the extra money for the better performance / lifespan
