You get a webcam, higher resolution screen, bigger trackpad and of course newer graphics and cpu for extra 300. AMD and ASUS said this model might get usb4 / thunderbolt 3 support

Found an open box 'excellent' nearby for just over $1k. This has the 3ms, 500nit Nebula Display (IPS). That and the return window of after NY's made my bite. Anyone want a lightly used X13?

Does this have the heating issues present on previous models? I'm seriously debating between this at the g15 strix advantage edition for $1100 that I have an order placed for - but hasn't shipped.

I bought and ultimately returned this laptop open box for $1000 a couple weeks ago.

It's an awesome machine and I enjoyed my time with it. Ultimately it just boiled down to me coming to the realization that I was trying to justify a work laptop that had some gaming chops. Then the inherent compromises that come with gaming laptops (heat, fan noise, gamery aesthetic, bulky barrel charger, etc.) set in and I decided to keep rolling with base model M1 Air that I already have.

If the next revision of the G14 charges completely over USB C, I'll likely make the switch.

The XPS lineup will pack a 3050 or 3050ti on USB-C charging. But I don't know if too many others because true gaming GPUs pull more like 80 to 140 watts. Add that to a modern power hungry CPU, and USB-C just can't keep up in its current iteration.

This G14 will charge just fine over USB-C. A YT reviewer found that the performance degraded something like 30% when using a 100 watt charger, but gaming was still completely possible.

Yep. According to this Video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ISM_TxliRI ), performance falls to around 86% when charging via USB-C charger, which wouldn't be a bad tradeoff while running from a small GaN-charger.

I believe the ROG Flow x13 charges over USB C. Hopefully new power delivery standards and USB 4 can accommodate power for these more powerful laptops. I am pretty ignorant to how feasible that is though.

Why would that be? I can find no documentation with that recommendation. Not to mention that ASUS markets the USB-C charging as a feature and literally provides/sells a compact ROG-themend 100W USB-C charger alongside the ROG (incl. G14) lineup for exactly that use case.
