Recent migrant here. Does anyone know why cans sold in the US have three balls and not four?

Maybe Costco will have a coupon again. I stock up when they do. I'm still going through my last purchasing.

Are they different?
It's hit or miss tbh with tennis balls. I've had several good cases from Costco and some Propenn Marathon balls from Tennis Warehouse where a few cans were flat. Then a friend had several flat cans from Costco, never bought from them again, and no flat Propenn cans from TW. Both stores have very good return policies so if you think they're bouncing funny just return them.

Penn v/s Wilson? Any recommendations?
I find penn balls usually to be lower quality than Wilson ones wrt bounce. Especially on in relatively cold weather.

It's not just brand but the different balls too, example propenn marathon balls from penn is a lot better than these lower tier ones, similar lines are in different Wilson balls and dunlop balls

These are extra duty felt. Costco ones are normal felt. You would notice the penn in black on these vs red on costco ones. The red is generally used for women's tennis

This is location dependent. Based on my experience in areas where there are more clay courts (ex Florida) they sell the regular duty felt (red). In other areas where people play more on hard courts they sell the extra duty felt (black).

i have bought many extra duty penn from Costco in the pass, and many were flat out of the can. it's really annoying. we play exclusively with pro penn now, they last 6 to 7 sets easily.

Tennis sucks, want to have some actual fun? Play Pickleball instead.
Power walks are great, too.Ha ha

Pickleball is fun right out of the box, no learning required, no matter the age. I'll stick to tennis until I'm 80 and lose my ability to run, the hand-eye coordination, and my shot skills. I'm sure I'll be a rare commodity and a player among all the ladies.
