M2 has a faster processor, better screen, better webcam, magsafe port (so, extra USB port essentially), better speakers... M2 256GB has worse synthetic benchmarks, but would you even notice in actual use? I doubt it.

This is a great laptop, I've had mine since release. No signs of slowing down as of yet. Only issue is the lack of support for dual external monitors, so I wouldn't recommend this if that's what you want to use it for.
